Curious about biostimulators? Let me break it down for you 👇
I used to reach for hyaluronic acid fillers (like Juvederm and Restylane) for almost every treatment because they deliver instant volume. Over the past few years though, I’ve been using biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse more and more — and here’s why:
Regular HA fillers add immediate volume, which makes them perfect for lips, under eyes, and specific wrinkles.
Biostimulators work differently. Instead of just filling, they stimulate your body to produce its own collagen and elastin. This rebuilds skin structure from the inside out, making them ideal for overall facial volume loss, hollow temples, sunken cheeks, or thinning skin.
The results look very natural and typically last 2 years or longer. Radiesse even provides some immediate plumping while the long-term collagen production kicks in.
It does take a few weeks to a couple of months to see the full outcome, but for the right person, the natural, long-lasting improvement is worth it.
Both options have their place — it really depends on your goals and the result you’re looking for.
If you’re experiencing gradual volume loss and want a natural-looking refresh that lasts, Sculptra or Radiesse may be a great fit.
