"Already this month, almost 123,000 acres have burned across the state, according to data provided by Texas A&M Forest Service, more than the previous three Marches combined. Climate change has made the Texas heat hotter and longer-lasting, enhancing drought conditions that set the stage for intense fires. More than 40% of the state is in an extreme drought.

I’d argue that pivots are more important to track than fundraises, because they give a snapshot of a startup reacting to new tensions in the market."

Early-stage startups still have access to ample capital, giving them a VC bubble that somewhat protects them from rapid changes in the greater economy. But that bubble is changing shape.
