At our January 10th meeting, Steven and Sherri Brosch will share how they traced two Texas farming families back more than 100 years to qualify for the Texas Family Land Heritage Program—and how you can use similar research strategies in your own genealogy.

The South Plains Genealogical Society Welcomes you to our page. Our meetings are open to the public and are held at the Mahon Library Meeting Room, 1306 9th St., Lubbock, Texas. SPGS meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month excluding summers and December from 10 am to Noon.
The Genealogy Section at Mahon Library is full of books to help with our searches. We purchase books through the year to complete collections, new books that are needed in an area of research. Most are catalogued and may be found in the library catalogue. However, we do have material that is not catalogued i.e. some family books, some family trees, directories for the city of Lubbock and some other areas. Our vertical files have just been reorganized and what treasures have been found. The South Plains is a large area that covers many counties. We try to have material not only for the area but for the United States and other countries.
Our member have been so helpful in sharing their writings with us. We have a wide range of publications available for purchase. We are always looking for speakers and volunteers. If you have suggestions please feel free to send them to SPGSnews@gmail.com
