National Human Trafficking Prevention Month
Human trafficking can be hard to recognize—but awareness saves lives.
Here are 3 possible signs of human trafficking to be aware of:
1. Someone appears controlled or monitored
They may be accompanied by someone who speaks for them, won’t leave their side, or controls their identification, money, or communication.
2. Limited freedom or inconsistent stories
They may not know where they are, where they live, or give conflicting information about work, relationships, or daily life.
3. Signs of fear, trauma, or neglect
Unexplained injuries, extreme anxiety, exhaustion, or avoiding eye contact can be red flags—especially when paired with isolation.
If something feels off, trust your instincts.
