Hopefully you have identified at least one worthy individual. You’ve downloaded the forms.. now what?
If you haven’t already, talked to your nominee. Tell them what you would like to do, and why you thought of them. Give/email them a copy of the criteria.. each award has different criteria.
Tips for strong writing
Outcomes… How many people have they touched? Do you have quotes from people who were impacted? How many classes? Any change in statistics? (i.e. patient satisfaction scores after implementation of a new process.)
Different examples.. Stronger applications have more than one example. Maybe you can highlight one strength from your team and your 2nd nominator (if applicable) can highlight another strength or outcome
Good English. Do you want to read this? Does it flow? Complete sentences?
Briefer is not necessarily stronger. Yes, we are ER nurses, we love bullet points, but this isn’t the time. You have 200 words per criteria, use them!!

Topic: Convert a Peripheral IV to a Mid-Line in the ED
Date: Feb 10, 2021
Time: 7:30 PM -9:00 PM (PST)
Speaker-Matt Reavill

ReavillMED has developed an innovative way to make the first needlestick in a hospital accomplish all therapies.

The one-needle hospital stays
The concept is simple. Once the patient is admitted to the hospital, the clinician inserts the PICC line catheter. The PICC line may be used for all patient needs and, if necessary, it can remain with the patient at discharge. These versatile, arm-placed central lines have been used for well over 30 years in home health for long-term IV therapies and blood draws.

But their use in emergency medicine, EMS, and early-stage hospital admissions has been limited, due to their long insertion times (typically 30 minutes).
ReavillMED has changed the role and utilization of PICC lines by making them significantly easier and quicker to insert. The technology infuses their long PICC line catheter into an IV line, similar to the way an IV push is given. If the patient has a good working IV line in a good vein, the clinician will only need to add this device to the line to make it a long-term PICC.
