We chose GrassRoots as our name because chiropractic as holistic healthcare is a movement that exists because people see the results and believe in the underlying idea that if given the chance the body can heal itself. Chiropractic itself is about the power of healing through movement, not just about pain management. After graduating in December of 2013, I was determined to stay in the DFW area to pursue my dreams of becoming a chiropractor. However, fate had other plans. In February of 2014, I met Dr. Rick Housewright, whose wisdom and guidance would forever change the course of my career. Just ten minutes into our conversation, I knew that my future lay in Lubbock, alongside Dr. Rick. Joining him in practice in March 2014 marked the beginning of an incredible journey, filled with invaluable lessons and unforgettable experiences. Dr. Rick's unwavering dedication to his craft, his unique ability to connect with patients, and his unrelenting passion for mentoring me have all left an indelible mark on my life and career. Even today, I continue to share stories of Dr. Rick's remarkable impact with the people I meet, and his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit remains, and one of his favorite lyrics, 'Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed,' resonates deeply. My thoughts and prayers are with his beloved wife Lori, his children, and his grandchildren.
