Our technician was at BPL Plasma yesterday, donating plasma.
•
Plasma donations are critically important to saving lives. Plasma donations are mainly used to treat people with rare chronic diseases and disorders, such as genetic lung diseases, treatments of traumas, as well as burn victims. Donating plasma does take time and commitment, but it is definitely worth the time. If you ever have some extra time, I would recommend giving some to an important cause 🫀🩸💉

Yesterday, the STAT team was blessed with the opportunity to attend the 1st Annual Lindsey Horton Memorial golf tournament in Andrew’s, TX, where Lindsey worked as a nurse, at Permian Regional Medical Center. We are so thankful for the opportunity to take part in such a special cause and to be able to support many of Lindsey’s family and friends. This new foundation has exploded with so much support, it’s unbelievable. So many great people and organizations have come together to create an awesome opportunity to honor Lindsey and give back to the communities around West Texas.

The message given to us yesterday from Lindsey’s father, Jim Horton, was to live each day loving those around us and to help someone everyday. It was Lindsey’s mission to love and care for others, no matter what. So, we will honor her by loving and giving back to others. Again, we are honored to be a part of this growing foundation and we can’t wait to see where it goes.

During this pandemic, we have been forced to work after hours, often on weekends, while patients are not being seen and treated. We often take advantage of Sundays to care for the Fresenius Kidney Care facilities throughout West Texas and the Permian Basin. Today, the STAT team was in Big Spring, TX performing the annual preventive maintenance inspections at the Fresenius clinic.

Thank you to all of our healthcare workers on the front lines battling this pandemic and keeping us safe in the process 😷
