Our technician was at BPL Plasma yesterday, donating plasma.
•
Plasma donations are critically important to saving lives. Plasma donations are mainly used to treat people with rare chronic diseases and disorders, such as genetic lung diseases, treatments of traumas, as well as burn victims. Donating plasma does take time and commitment, but it is definitely worth the time. If you ever have some extra time, I would recommend giving some to an important cause 🫀🩸💉

Yesterday, the STAT team was blessed with the opportunity to attend the 1st Annual Lindsey Horton Memorial golf tournament in Andrew’s, TX, where Lindsey worked as a nurse, at Permian Regional Medical Center. We are so thankful for the opportunity to take part in such a special cause and to be able to support many of Lindsey’s family and friends. This new foundation has exploded with so much support, it’s unbelievable. So many great people and organizations have come together to create an awesome opportunity to honor Lindsey and give back to the communities around West Texas.

The message given to us yesterday from Lindsey’s father, Jim Horton, was to live each day loving those around us and to help someone everyday. It was Lindsey’s mission to love and care for others, no matter what. So, we will honor her by loving and giving back to others. Again, we are honored to be a part of this growing foundation and we can’t wait to see where it goes.

During this pandemic, we have been forced to work after hours, often on weekends, while patients are not being seen and treated. We often take advantage of Sundays to care for the Fresenius Kidney Care facilities throughout West Texas and the Permian Basin. Today, the STAT team was in Big Spring, TX performing the annual preventive maintenance inspections at the Fresenius clinic.

Infusion pumps are medical devices that deliver fluids, such as nutrients and medications, into a patient’s body in controlled amounts. These are in widespread use in the clinical settings such as hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, etc.

Half of the STAT team has been at Anson General Hospital for the past two days for some annual preventative maintenance inspections. These annual inspections consist of testing all patient used medical equipment and devices throughout the entire hospital from life saving defibrillators to laboratory centrifuges. The inspections consist of many different testing modalities from electrical safety testing to defibrillator and non-invasive blood pressure analysis.
•
It is crucial that all medical equipment is operating safely and reliably in order to treat patients. We take pride in our knowledge and technical skills, which provide us with the tools needed to safely and effectively service medical equipment.

Extra side note: Being owned and operated by West Texas locals, we have ties all over the region. However, Anson is an especially dear place for us, as our COO, .moore67 , and her mother were both born at this facility. • Enhancing our protocols for cleaning our protocols for cleaning all equipment entering our facility as well as the frequency of the cleaning and disinfecting schedules in our facility.

•Instructing employees who feel ill to stay home and continue to monitor and report worsening symptoms.
•Contacting facilities prior to scheduling service calls to prepare for changing protocols.
