Today’s School Psychology Intern site visit is out-of-state! Dr. Chapman headed to Lovington, New Mexico this morning to see Keysha Martin and her supervisor Khadijah Brandon. We had the opportunity to tour the Lovington Autism Center for Education & Services (LACES) which is a specialized program supporting students with autism in Lovington. Keysha attended school in Lovington, and plans to continue supporting this underserved area as a future school psychologist!

Today’s school psychology intern site visit was right up the street from TTU to see Sophia Ortiz and her site supervisor, Dr. Dave Jenkins, in Frenship ISD. Fun fact: Dr. Jenkins was also Dr. Chapman’s internship supervisor long ago in Lubbock ISD! We appreciate the MANY years of service he has given to school districts in the Lubbock area, as well as the supervision he has provided to numerous TTU students.
Frenship ISD is one of the three largest districts in the Lubbock area, and they’re currently hiring school psychologists for next school year if you’re looking for a position in Raider Land! ❤️ 🖤

Today’s internship site visit is at one of the most unique settings we have had for a TTU intern! Dr. Chapman is visiting Rachele Leo, who works at Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This school and residential setting is located on a beautiful campus in downtown Austin. Rachele, her site supervisor (Grant Overman) and one more school psychologist serve approximately 150 students in this very specialized setting. Thank you to TSBVI for providing this exceptional experience for our intern, and for allowing us to come in and see the incredibly immersive environment you’ve created for students with very complex needs. ❤️🖤

It’s March Madness, and that means Dr. Chapman is back on the road visiting our school psychology interns across Texas and New Mexico. Today was a day full of familiar faces in Kerrville ISD, where Katie Dorsey and Jodi Werner are finishing out their internships. This district is also supporting two practicum students, and employees a licensed school psychologist who graduated from our program last year. We want to recognize their amazing supervisor, Piper Perlichek, who has poured a tremendous amount of time and effort into shaping these future school psychologists. Kerrville also employs a school psychologist as their SPED director (Lynn Paulo). We are grateful for the wonderful partnership that has developed with this district, and hope to see many more school psychologists receive hands-on training at this site in the future. Thank you, Kerrville ISD! ❤️ 🖤
