Thermography scans use an infrared camera and thermal imaging to detect heat patterns and blood flow in body tissues. Increased blood flow and vascularity to certain tissues can indicate abnormalities and angiogenesis - the formation of new blood vessels to feed cancerous cells. These screenings are non-invasive, pain-free and do not expose you to radiation.

How often should I get thermal imaging?

Yearly scans are ideal as it helps you monitor and be proactive with your health.

If you are actively working on health issues, thermography is a great way to monitor the changes and efficacy of your protocols.

Keep in mind, your first scan is a baseline for all future scans.

Thermography is pain free, radiation free and only has some special instructions before you get scanned.

Below are some of the instructions before your imaging:

📍No breast surgery, chemotherapy or radiation treatments 3 months prior to your imaging.
📍 No breast biopsy for one month prior.
📍Lactation: Imaging is recommended if there is a problem or concern. However, a baseline is not recommended for at least 3 months after the last active breastfeeding.

24 hours prior to your appointment:
✨Avoid exercise or heavy physical activity.
✨No massage or lymph treatments.
✨No chiropractic adjustments.
✨No saunas, steam baths or hot tubs.
✨No hot or cold packs.

Day of Exam:
📆Avoid heavy makeup. Oil based products on the body will affect accurate detection by the camera.
📆No hot shower within 4 hours prior to imaging.
📆Avoid oily deodorants or creams on the skin, especially essential oils.
📆No heat lamps or sunburn - you will have to reschedule.
📆 Do not shave the area to be imaged.
📆For head imaging, do not eat for at least 2 hours prior.
📆No gum chewing.
📆Please run your A/C or heater but avoid A/C or heater in the car blowing directly on you.
📆You will be asked to remove all jewelry in the area to be imaged. If you cannot remove certain jewelry pieces such as nose or belly rings, just let us know so we can note it.

➡Please note the areas that are being imaged will be exposed/unclothed. We are taking images of the heat being admitted by the skin.

What type of information will thermography show?

Thermography is the recording of heat withing the body. Excess heat, a.k.a. inflammation, can show imbalances or dis-ease.

Our Breast Health Scans will show any areas of concern in the breast and also if there is lymph congestion.

Our Women's & Men's Health Scan and Full Body Scan monitors things like mouth, gum & sinus health, thyroid imbalances, vascular structures, heart, lungs, liver, spleen, pancreas and digestive health.

These scans are a great way to see your body as a whole, allowing you to make the best decision for your health.

Many ask us how they will know if there is something to be concerned about.

Each scan is reviewed by our physicians, and a report is given. If there is something that needs monitoring or further diagnostics it will be stated in the report.
