We are proud to highlight the incredible support provided by Lisa Valentine from the Southern Ohio Employer Resource Network (SOERN). Through her partnership with our organization, Lisa works closely with our team to help connect employees to valuable resources that support both their personal and professional well-being.

The Southern Ohio Employer Resource Network assists employees who may be facing challenges outside of work by helping them access services such as healthcare support, financial assistance, counseling, reliable childcare, housing resources, and transportation or car repair needs. These services are designed to remove barriers that can make it difficult for employees to focus on their work and their families.

In addition to connecting staff with these important resources, Lisa has gone above and beyond by providing Blessing Boxes for our employees. These boxes are filled with ready-to-go meals and have been placed at Ross ICF, the Ross Day Program, and the Pike Day Program, and Pike ICF to ensure staff have convenient access to a quick and supportive meal when needed.

We are grateful for Lisa’s continued dedication to supporting our employees and strengthening our workplace community. Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in the lives of our staff, and we look forward to continuing our work with the Southern Ohio Employer Resource Network to support our team.

Congressional leaders are discussing proposals that could significantly reduce Medicaid funding. These cuts would have devastating consequences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), potentially stripping away access to vital services that Advancing Abilities - Scioto Trails provides that support people with disabilities to remain in their communities. Real people’s dignity, independence and well-being are at stake. Tell your Senators and Representatives to reject Medicaid cuts and protect services for people with I/DD. Medicaid operates as a partnership between states and the federal government to fund crucial health care services. When federal Medicaid funding is reduced, states must find new funding to balance the shortfall in state budgets. If new funding cannot be found, community-based services for people with I/DD that Advancing Abilities - Scioto Trails provides are often reduced, leading to longer waitlists for HCBS and higher rates of unnecessary institutionalization.
