👋 Meet Lee Holdren, CNP – Now Seeing Patients at Community Medical Center!

We’re excited to welcome Lee Holdren, Certified Nurse Practitioner, to the Community Medical Center team!

Originally from southern Ohio, Lee recently relocated with his wife and three children to Lucedale, his wife’s hometown. He brings a strong background in patient care, having spent over 7 years as an inpatient staff nurse and more than 4 years as a nurse practitioner in orthopedic spine, neurosurgery, and emergency care.

Lee earned his Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Ohio University and has been board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the AANP since 2020.

Outside of work, Lee enjoys CrossFit, basketball, guitar, home renovation, and spending time outdoors—but his favorite role is being a husband and dad to three young kids.

Independence Day holiday Hours!

In observance of Independence Day, all administrative offices, pharmacy drive-thru, elective outpatient services, and clinics at George Regional Health System will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025.

We hope you enjoy a fun and festive holiday with your loved ones—and as you celebrate, here are a few tips to help keep your 4th of July safe and injury-free:

🎇 Firework Safety: Light fireworks in open areas, keep a water source nearby, and never allow young children to handle them.
🌭 Grill with Care: Keep grills at least 10 feet from buildings and never leave them unattended while in use.
🚗 Travel Smart: Buckle up, avoid distractions while driving, and plan ahead if you'll be out late.
☀️ Beat the Heat: Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks in the shade when outdoors.

☀️ Beat the Heat – Summer Safety Tips from Community Medical Center! 💧🌡️

As temperatures rise, so do the risks of heat-related illness. Whether you're heading outdoors with the kids or enjoying summer activities yourself, our team at Community Medical Center and CMC Pediatrics wants to remind you to stay safe and smart in the sun!

Here are some essential heat safety tips for all ages:

💦 Stay Hydrated – Drink water regularly, even if you’re not thirsty. Kids especially need frequent reminders to drink up!

🧢 Dress for the Weather – Choose light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and breathable fabrics. Hats and sunglasses help too!

🕒 Avoid Peak Heat – Try to limit outdoor activity between **10 AM – 4 PM**, when the sun is strongest.

🧴 Apply Sunscreen – Use SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours—more often if swimming or sweating.

🚗 Never Leave Children or Pets in a Hot Car – Not even for a minute. Interior temperatures can climb dangerously fast.

🏃 Pace Yourself – Whether working or playing outside, take regular breaks in the shade or indoors to cool down.

⚠️ Know the Signs of Heat Illness – Watch for headache, nausea, dizziness, heavy sweating, confusion, or fatigue. Seek medical help if symptoms occur.

👨‍⚕️ CMC Provider Spotlight: Dr. Christopher Lansdown, M.D. 👨‍⚕️
We’re proud to highlight one of our outstanding providers at Community Medical Center!

Dr. Lansdown is a compassionate, board-certified Family Physician with a strong commitment to exceptional patient care. Since joining CMC in 2016, he has blended his expertise in family medicine with a passion for preventative health and patient education.

He earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at LSU Health in Shreveport, where he served as chief resident.

In addition to primary care, Dr. Lansdown has a special interest in cosmetic procedures such as Botox and Juvederm, helping patients look and feel their best. Outside of medicine, he enjoys medical mission work, fishing, restoring classic cars, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife Holly and their three children.
