Today at school, quite a few students talked about how irritated they were — with others and things around them. It seemed to be in the air. It should not have been a surprise when we got home and discovered that the horses and donkeys had let themselves out of the pen and had an adventure. Nothing says irritation like four manes, tails, and forelocks full of burrs. In the end, the unexpected evening of grooming was a gift of time with the ponies that we wouldn’t have had otherwise, and now they’re extra beautiful.

Navi shared lessons with me today about patience and meeting others where they’re at. (Then she calmly got in the trailer.) At Aanji-Bimaadiziwin Healing Center, she brought authentic connection, applauded truth and gratitude, and shared what one participant called “good medicine.”🤍

✨ Welcome, Navi ✨ We’ve been quiet on social media for some time now, but things continue to shift and grow in real time. We welcomed Navi to the farm a few weeks ago. She is a Mesa Verde mustang and one of the coolest horses we’ve been lucky enough to know. She made her coaching debut today and will be as steady and grounding in work as she is in everyday life. She is already so loved, and we can’t wait for you to meet her soon.

The trees are glorious . . . getting around outside, not so much. Nature made us a skating rink, but horses don’t wear ice skates. Stay safe, everyone!

every. single. day.

I believe that we are opening doors to a new paradigm, a shift in consciousness for humankind. It’s messy now, and will continue to be for a while, but hopefully, the next “revolution” will be one of the mind.

Horses carry profoundly deep wisdom and have lead humans through some of our greatest “achievements” (relative statement) and have been our beast of burden, war horse, vehicle, trophy, the list goes on.

The collective of horses are telling us to slow down, be present, tap into our own emotions so that we can become better humans and that will cause a ripple effect.

We knew the time to say goodbye was close at hand, and it still took us by surprise. Safe journey, sweet Sadie. We will miss your gentle, grounded nature and subtle sense of humor. What an honor it has been to walk beside you in this world.

Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a magical show. There was sooo much energy rolling out there during evening chores. Maybe Thunder helped brew up a good storm for us.

Over the weekend, we said an unexpected goodbye to our sweet boy Thunder. We are grateful for the many gifts you gave us in your nearly twenty-one years, big guy. You’ve left a giant space to fill and a hell of a legacy. Love you always.
