At Lake Michigan Senior Living, we're privileged to be home to living historians like Joyce, whose memories paint vivid pictures of America's past. Today, she shares a powerful story from her high school years in Hart, Michigan, during World War II.

"I was in high school with a class of maybe 30 students," Joyce recalls, "and it was mostly girls. The boys hadn't even graduated yet when the buses came to pick them up for war."

Can you imagine? Young men, barely 18, leaving their desks and dreams behind to serve our country. Joyce remembers watching those buses arrive, taking away her classmates before they could walk across the graduation stage.

"By graduation time, they weren't there," she reflects. "But I'll never forget when the war ended in 1945 - the bells rang throughout our entire town."
These are the stories that shape us, the memories that connect generations. At Lake Michigan Senior Living, we treasure these moments when our residents share their lived experiences with history.

We're thrilled to announce that our residents will be welcoming furry friends from Caring K9s every Tuesday afternoon! Our residents absolutely LOVE animals, and we couldn't be more excited to bring these special therapy dog visits to Lake Michigan Senior Living.

There's nothing quite like the joy and comfort that comes from spending time with these amazing four-legged companions. Get ready for lots of tail wags, gentle cuddles, and happy smiles!
