American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 History of the Auxiliary The Auxiliary was founded in 1919, and is the world’s largest patriotic women’s service organization.

With a membership at nearly 850,000, local American Legion Auxiliary units have a strong presence in more than 9,500 communities nationwide. The American Legion Auxiliary’s mission is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad.

On Friday (4/18) and Saturday (4/19) students from the University of Vermont and Dartmouth will be working as part of the Culvert Crawler's program in clearing and inspecting ditches, culverts and drains in Cavendish and Ludlow. They will be wearing yellow vests so please use caution when driving past them. We will be posting pictures of the progress they are making.
