Thank you, Nurses!

Today, we celebrate the compassionate, skilled, and dedicated nurses who make a difference every single day across East Texas. 💙

At Burke, our nurses are often the first to offer comfort, guidance, and hope to individuals and families navigating mental health and intellectual and developmental disability services. Whether in our clinics, crisis services, residential programs, or community settings, their care changes lives.

Thank you for the long hours, the listening ears, the calm during crises, and the commitment you bring to our communities every day.

Please join us in thanking our incredible Burke nurses for all they do! 👏

Illegal drugs don't come with an ingredient list. Many are mixed with fentanyl, a powerful opioid that can be deadly even in tiny amounts. Most people never know it's there.

Learn the signs of an overdose.
Carry naloxone. It can reverse an opioid overdose and save a life.
Share this message to help protect your community.

Being informed and prepared can make all the difference. Learn more about lifesaving naloxone from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/stopoverdose/naloxone/index.html

Have you ever heard any of these? Maybe you have even said one without realizing it.
When someone is struggling with their mental health, these phrases can feel like a door closing in their face. They do not need to be fixed or dismissed. They need to be heard.
If someone opens up to you, you do not have to have all the answers. Just listen. Just stay. That is enough.
And if you are the one struggling, your feelings are real and you deserve support.
