How Many Lymphatic Massages Are Recommended After Surgery?

Most post-surgical clients benefit from 6–12 lymphatic drainage sessions, depending on:
• Type of surgery
• Amount of swelling
• Individual healing response
• Provider recommendation

Typical Post-Op Schedule

Weeks 1–2
• 2–3 sessions per week
• Focus: reducing swelling, fluid buildup, discomfort, and tightness

Weeks 3–4
• 1–2 sessions per week
• Focus: continued drainage, healing support, and fibrosis prevention

Weeks 5–6+
• 1 session per week or as needed
• Focus: maintenance, tissue softness, circulation, and overall comfort
