Play isn’t just fun- it’s a powerful learning tool!

Kids learn best when they are engaged and having FUN- through PLAY! Essential learning skills, articulation trials, social pragmatic skills, and SO much more can be targeted though play and allows our kiddos to learn in their natural environment.

So when you see us playing, just know: there’s speech magic happening! 🫧🛝📚🪄🩵

Chelsea, you are such a blessing to FATLR. Watching you step into your new role this year has been incredible. You have truly blossomed and thrived in everything you’ve taken on. While we’ve missed seeing you in the office every day, the kids and therapists always look forward to the days you’re there leading and shining.

We love using bubbles as a therapy tool here! It might only look like a child that’s blowing bubbles, but there are so many therapeutic benefits to this simple task!

🫧Blowing bubbles can:
•develop oral motor skills
•increase hand-eye coordination
•improve visual tracking skills
•provide proprioceptive input
•calm and regulate the nervous system
•improve cognition & sequencing skills

Motor Monday!! ✍🏼

One of our friends has been working on tracing a figure 8 on a vertical surface! Some of the benefits of doing this are:

•Crossing midline (helps develop communication between both sides of the brain)

•Visual motor skills & visual tracking

•Enhances alertness & focus to the brain

•Shoulder and core stability

•Regulates the nervous system

All of these factors are important for successful handwriting and school related activities! 📚✂️🍎
