Funeral services for Betty (Sue) Carver Matchett Linton, 78 of Huntington, will be held at 11:00 am, Friday December 6, 2024 in the Bald Hill Church of Christ, 9187 FM 326, Lufkin with Philip Snead officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial cemetery.

Sue was born October 8, 1946 to the late Grady Inez (Temple) and Bill Lavel Carver in Lufkin and pass away December 3, 2024 at her residence.

She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who love each and everyone of her family. Sue worked for Huntington ISD for 24 years and was loved by all. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved fishing.

Sue is survived by Sherry Lane, John & Kayla Matchett, Terry Murray, Katie Matchett, Carlin Hippe, all of Huntington; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother and wife, John and Mary Carver; sister, Becky Mayfield; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and numerous friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Glennis Dean Linton; daughter, Barbara Matchett Sumrall; grandson, Bo Lane; sisters, Juanita Youngblood, Earline Mullan, Franice Walker; brother, Tommy Carver, Richard Carver, Robert Carver, and B L Carver.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday at the church building.

Funeral services for Jimmy G. Gandy, 77, of Huntington, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Highway Baptist Church in Huntington with Brother Lamar Denby and Delton Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin. He was born June 1, 1947 in Lufkin to the late Mary Louise (Hicks) and Loyal Gandy and died November 6, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Gandy was a member of the Huntington Masonic Lodge #254 and a local Reserve Police Officer for over 20 years. He retired from the local Paper Mill as a Millwright. In his spare time, he was at the lake fishing and was a fishing guide. Mr. Gandy loved spending time at home with his family and cows.
He is survived by sons, Richard Gandy and Jimmy Wayne Gandy; daughter, Melisa and Steve Phillips; grandchildren, Heather and Tyler Windham, Savanna Phillips and Ryan (Diboll) Havard; great grandchildren, Sloane Windham and Ledger Phillips; sisters, Verda Goff and Gail Gandy; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gandy was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah; brother, Virgil Gandy; and sister, Joyce Tidwell.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Highway Baptist Church in Huntington.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Hartley, 71 of Huntington will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the Greater Love Tabernacle in Homer. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service starting at 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Born on July 6, 1953, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Helen and Manuel Rodriguez. She passed away at Jasper Harbor Hospice of East Texas on October 24, 2024. She was employed with Lufkin Daily News for a number of years.

MaryAnn was a member of Greater Love Tabernacle Church of Homer Community, TX. She was a loving, devoted, dedicated mother. A faithful believer and a child of God. A Generous Soul with a Heart of Gold to whomever she met. Mary Ann touched many lives and was an inspirational blessing to all.

Mary Ann is survived by her mother, Helen Rodriguez of Missouri; husband of 32 years, Harold (Duke) Hartley of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Michelle Rodriguez; grandson and wife, Tyler & Hailey Rodriguez of Illinois; daughter and spouse, Hope & Jeffrey Nielsen of Zavalla; daughter, Kirstin Sarber of Lufkin; siblings, Glenda & husband, Bill Smith of Colorado, Linda Hines of Missouri, Norman & wife, Angela Rodriguez of Colorado, Manuel Gene & wife, Carolyn Rodriguez of Texas, Wilma & husband, Mike Hartley of Missouri, Nancy Rodriguez of Texas, Alice Wilson of Missouri, Ralph & wife, Deonna Rodriguez of Missouri; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she also considered her family.

Greg Fenn, 68, a beloved husband and father passed away on August 29, 2024. Greg's life was marked by his deep faith and engaging personality that brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace on the water, always reflecting on the beauty of creation and the Creator.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he enjoyed sharing his beliefs with all he met. His faith in the resurrection and future paradise earth filled his life with purpose and hope.

He is loved by: his devoted wife of 48 years, Cindy; son, Austin and his wife Tara; daughter Amanda; mother June; brother Gary and his wife Judy; along with extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Lester.

In honor of Greg's wishes, no formal services will be held. His life and legacy will continue to be celebrated by his family and friends through the memories they hold dear and the stories they continue to share.

Joyce Marie Ditsworth Terrell (83) passed away on August 1, 2024.

Joyce was born on December 3, 1940 to Everitt Oscar Ditsworth and Linnie Lucille Pierce in Plymouth, NC. She met her husband and built their Diboll home in 1965 where they raised their children and provided shelter and love to various family members over the years.

She found joy in tending to her rose garden, goldfish pond, and growing beautiful plants for everyone to enjoy. She loved baking and cooking for her family and friends, creating memorable meals that brought people together. Joyce enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, quilting, reading, shopping, singing, playing dominoes, camping, fishing, and making countless memories with those she loved. She was a retired beautician and served 17 years in Diboll ISD cafeterias.

She took an active role in the lives of her children and grandchildren, sharing God’s love, teaching patience and humility, life skills like cooking, sewing, gardening, and how to care for others. She was an active member at Jubilee Baptist Church and raised her children in the Christian faith instilling the importance of God and family in their daily lives. She shared her love of music and the Gospel by playing the piano, her mandolin, and singing specials enriching the lives of all who would listen.

Joyce is survived by her children Jerry Terrell, Richard Terrell, Angela Bolin and husband Brent, Melissa Mettlen and husband Dan; grandchildren, Kristy Hardee, Jerry “JT” Terrell, Wendy Dallas, Kassey Bolin, Jonathan Bolin, Hollie Cole, Ashlee Cole, and Kayli Cole; sisters and brother-in-law Margaret Bridges and Augusta and Taylor Brewer; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Earl Terrell; parents Everitt Oscar Ditsworth and Linnie Lucille Pierce; brothers Edgar William Ditsworth Sr. and Oscar E. “Buck” Ditsworth.

Services will be held at Jubilee Baptist Church in Diboll, TX on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11am. Visitation will precede the ceremony from 10am-11am. A graveside service will follow at Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll.

Graveside service for Stanley Glenn Donahoe of Lufkin will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday May 9, 2024 in the Gann Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Donahoe was born June 22, 1949 in Lufkin to the late Laverne (Conditt) and Farris Donahoe and died May 6, 2024 at his residence after attaining the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 14 days.

Mr. Donahoe worked as a machinist for Texas Foundry Luftex for 30 years then fell in love with automotive delivery for wrecking yards with daily trips from Lufkin to Nacogdoches, Carthage, Longview, Tyler, and Palestine for 10 years. He married the love of his life, Wanda Graham on June 7, 1969.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Donahoe; daughter, Kimberly Donahoe Hamilton; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Amy Donahoe; grandchildren, Kayla Hamilton Brown, Cody Hamilton, Skyler Strait, Christopher Donahoe, and Caleb Donahoe; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Brown, Elijah Brown, Harlan Hamilton, Lily Hamilton, and Paisley Bridges; sister, Dorenda Jones; sister-in-law, Ada Seale; brother-in-law and wife, Murlin & Debbi Graham; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Donahoe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents, Harvey & Agnes Graham; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Cheyenne Hamilton in 2013.

Pallbearers will be Steven Donahoe, Christopher Donahoe, Paul Vann, Chris Myers, Scott Cross, and Cody Hamilton.

A public memorial service will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Roberts, Kevin Hight, and Sheriff Tom Selman officiating. The family will receive guests and visitors prior to the service at 10:00 am at the church.
James Larry Hight of Lufkin was born December 20, 1937 in Louisville, Mississippi and entered into his eternal reward on April 7, 2024 at 86 years of age.
Larry was a resident of Angelina County for nearly 60 years, as an original partner of 9 till 9 Auto Parts, and eventually opening three locations of Hight’s Auto parts in Lufkin and Nacogdoches. He spent several years serving as the captain of the Angelina County Sheriff’s Reserves before joining the force as a Deputy where he retired as a Lieutenant after 25 years of service.
Larry was known by many as a man of faith and character, who never treated anyone unfairly and was willing to help no matter what the need. He was a born again Christian and longtime member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed time with his family, coaching youth baseball when his boys were young, as well as flying airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, and his son Cary Hight.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Robyn Ann (Craig) Hight, son Curtis Hight, son Kevin Hight and spouse Tonya, daughters in law Carla Card Hight and Marie Curbow Hight, grandchildren Lauren Hight, James (Jay) Hight, and Sara Johnson and spouse Brian, great grandchildren Sophie and Matt Johnson, plus numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Thank you to the nurses at Parkwood in the Pines, with special thanks extended to Cynthia and Linda for their attentiveness and care.

Edward Earl Terrell (88) passed away on April 2nd, 2024 at his home in Diboll, TX and was born on November 11, 1935 to Horace and Meda Belle (Koonce) Terrell in San Augustine County. He met his wife, Joyce and built their Diboll home in 1965 where they raised their children and provided shelter and love to various family members over the years.

He loved the outdoors and some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his family in nature. They created many memories while enjoying fishing, camping, and hunting trips. Excursions included catching monster catfish on trot lines, making Davy Crockett style hats from squirrel tails, and having massive fish fries.

He took an active role in the lives of his children and grandchildren, teaching self sufficiency skills in automotive maintenance, carpentry, gardening, and many more. Always sharing advice and providing guidance about life. He was an active member of Jubilee Baptist Church and raised his children in the Christian faith instilling the importance of God and family in their daily lives. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing specials at church as well as participating in casual pickin’ and grinnin’ sessions with family and friends.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his children, Jerry Terrell, Richard Terrell, Angela Bolin & husband, Brent, Melissa Mettlen & husband, Dan; grandchildren, Hollie Cole, Ashlee Cole, Kayli Cole, Jonathan Bolin, Michael Terrell, Kristy Hardee, Jerry Terrell, Kassey Bolin, Wendy Dallas; sister, Juanice Adkins; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Meda Belle (Koonce) Terrell; brother, Horace Junior Terrell; and sisters, Dorothy Terrell, Ara Wilkerson, Billie Marie Coronado.

Services will be held at Jubilee Baptist Church in Diboll, TX on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 11:00 am with Grandson/Pastor (J.T.) Jerry Terrell officiating. Visitation will precede the ceremony from 10:00am – 11:00am. A graveside service will follow at Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll.

Ms LaBrozzi was born April 27, 1941 in Sizerville, PA to the late Geraldine (Goode) and Francis Sizer and died March 30, 2024 at her residence.

Ms LaBrozzi is survived by her son, Bernard “Buddy” LaBrozzi, Jr.; daughter, Brenda LaBrozzi; grandchildren, Amy Landon, Kody Sherrer, Donnie Kramer, and Felicia LaBrozzi; twelve great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Sydney Sizer and David Sizer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. LaBrozzi, Sr.; brother, Frederick Sizer; two infant sons, John Joseph and Bryan David.

Private family funeral service for Mona Dell Powers of Lufkin will be held at a later date. Ms Powers was born April 5, 1938 in Angelina County to the late Martha (Harvey) & R.L. Parrott and died March 12, 2024 in a local hospital after attaining the age of 85 years, 11 months and 7 day.

Ms Powers was a Lifetime member of the VFW - Post 1836 and the DAV.

She is survived by her children, Linda & Ricky Justus, Dennis & Abby Crager, and Vickie Mettlen; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Jo Thomas; lots of nieces and nephews; other loved ones and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ms Powers was preceded in death by her daughter, Alisa Ann Stuart; husband, Delbert Powers; and 4 brothers.

Graveside service for Kenneth D. Price, 79 of Lufkin will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery with Matt Miller officiating. Kenneth was born July 2, 1944 in Shelby county to the late Opal (Gibson) and Jack Odell Price and passed March 1, 2024 at his residence.

Kenneth was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved camping on Lake Sam Rayburn. He was a hard worker with many talents and loved his children, grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchildren.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Wanda Price; children, Sherryl Price, Robert & wife, Renee Price; grandchildren, (his special little girl) Megan Sowell, Bradley Price, and Brock Whittle; great-grandchildren, Briar, Westynn (Boy), McGraw and Emma; sister and brother-in-law, Veva Nell & Terry Jessup; numerous brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Glennis Dean Linton, 86 of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday February 8, 2024 in the Bald Hill Church of Christ, 9187 FM 326, Lufkin with Philip Snead officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the Fielder Memorial cemetery.

Glennis was born September 15, 1937 in England, AR to the late Kathlene (Havard) and Newt Linton and was raised by Newt and Ottie Mae Linton in the Beulah community and Huntington and died February 4, 2024 in a local hospital.

He served in the US Air Force for 8 years and was a member of the Bald Hill church of Christ. Glennis loved hunting and fishing and his family. He was an excellent carpenter by trade and loved his dogs.

Glennis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue (Carver) Linton. He was a great step-dad to Sherry Lane, John & Kayla Matchett, Barbara Sumrall, Terry Murray, Katie Matchett, Carlin Hippi, all of Huntington; daughters, Sandy & husband, Oran Andrews, Jr. and Joanna Linton; sons, Thomas & wife, Vickie Linton and Glenn (Peanut) Linton, all of Lufkin; brothers, Melvin, Sr. & wife, Kay Linton and Billy Joe Linton, all of Lufkin; sisters, Linda Sue Bonner of Baytown, Chelmar Read, and Mary Jacks both of Lufkin; as well as grandkids, Courtney Linton, Amanda & Jonathan Curbow of Lufkin, Derrick & Chelsea Carbajal of Montgomery, Brian and Brenna Carbajal of New Braunfels; 6 great grandkids; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Glennis was preceded in death by a step-daughter.
