Important Notice Regarding STD Services

Due to a lack of state funding, the State of Texas did not allocate funds for STD (sexually transmitted disease) services. As a result, Local Health Departments' ability to offer free STD services to the general public has been impacted. The following changes will go into effect on October 1, 2025 at Angelina County & Cities Health District:

For Individuals with Insurance:
🔘 If you have commercial insurance or Medicaid, please visit your primary care physician or medical home for STD-related services.
🔘 If you choose not to use your insurance, the Health District can provide an office visit and treatment (if needed) for a fee of $60.00.

For Uninsured Individuals:
🔘 If you do not have insurance, you are welcome to visit the Health District’s Eligibility Department to determine if you qualify for discounted or covered services.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these funding limitations. If you need help, visit our Angelina County Connects location at 503 Hill Street in Lufkin or call (936) 633-1442.

The Angelina County & Cities Health District has instituted a strategic plan to establish and enact goals for our community. After constructive feedback, your health district has prioritized three areas:

• Building sustainable, cross sector partnerships to extend our impact and improve service.
• Building awareness, credibility and clarity around our role in the community and the services we provide for Angelina County residents.
• Shifting from reactive to preventive care through education and early intervention.

By prioritizing these areas, ACCHD aims to better fill the needs of the communities we serve and our organization itself.

The Angelina County & Cities Health District is in communication with Zavalla City officials regarding the current water service issues. We are working closely with the city to identify any state or federal resources that may assist with the process.

As part of our role, our Environmental Health Services team is checking with local food establishments to ensure safe operations are maintained during this time.
