The staff at Baylor St. Luke’s is celebrating that 300 patients have now benefited from a robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure allowing doctors easier access to the lungs to detect cancers.

A robotic-assisted bronchoscopy helps doctors reach small, difficult-to-access nodules in the lung with improved accuracy and less risk compared to a traditional bronchoscopy. The advanced procedure, performed using the ION System, offers patients faster recovery times and earlier diagnoses.

Healing, Hope and Innovation at St. Luke's Health - Sugar Land Hospital

We're honored to share the story of Charles Johnson, a member of our community who recently faced a significant health challenge: an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Due to his COPD, traditional open surgery presented considerable risks.

Fortunately, Dr. Jorge Miranda, Dr. Gilani, and our dedicated team at St. Luke's Health - Sugar Land were able to offer Charles a safe and effective alternative: Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR). Charles became the first patient at our hospital to undergo this minimally invasive procedure, which allowed us to repair his aneurysm through just two small incisions.

EVAR represents a significant advancement in vascular care, offering a less invasive option for patients who may not be candidates for traditional surgery. We're proud to bring this innovative technology to Fort Bend County, providing hope and improved outcomes for our patients.

We had an amazing time today at our team BBQ! A huge shoutout to our Employee Advisory Group for organizing the event, and to our Nutrition Services team for the delicious food!🤤 It was the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy some friendly competition with corn hole, bingo, and even a hilarious hula hoop contest!
