I had a lot of patients this week that need to hear this message I heard scrolling through tik tok. Faith doesn’t mean everything is going to be okay but it helps us believe we will survive. Praying and believing the patients we saw this week and took care of are standing on this as well. Everything in life is not necessarily going to be easy spiritually, physically or mentally but there is a test for this testimony.
I caught myself saying to a patient “You are preparing to die but I am not, We are going to prepare you to live.”. Life is so short and we are but vapors in the wind but take everyday as a gift even on the hard days. Chronic illness and invisible illness will beat you down in ways you could not imagine so please show people grace and love. As a patient myself, I realized I was in the same place as this woman crying today but we just have to hold on a little longer.
Many know I experience my own heath related issues and several patients today reminded me I am human to. One gave me an angel to place on my desk and told me “when times get tough just remember we are all on your side praying.”. It’s placed perfectly at the corner of my computer now.
As I walked into another patients room and asked how he was doing and gave him a hug, He stopped me and said, “ No how are you doing?”. He said I burned to***co in honor of you and know we are thinking of you”
Man, as a provider we can get so caught up, that we forget the real relationships we create with our patients. I’m not speaking for all providers but for myself most of my patients have become like family or friends. This week was a true testimony of what me and my team have created over the years.
Tonight, I am extremely blessed to be standing in the place God called me because whew it’s not easy but he never promised it would be.
, Grateful, Blessed
