We proudly congratulate the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina on this historic milestone toward full federal recognition. This long-awaited achievement reflects generations of perseverance, advocacy, and cultural strength rooted deeply in southeastern North Carolina.

The Lumbee people have shaped this region for centuries through leadership, family, tradition, and service to community. Their continued commitment to preserving identity and advancing opportunity, even in the face of long-standing barriers, is a testament to resilience and unity.

As temperatures drop, seniors are more vulnerable to illness and injury. Keep your home warm, wear layers, and watch for slippery floors or walkways. Cold weather can also stiffen joints—gentle movement throughout the day helps keep pain and falls to a minimum.

The Robeson County Senior Citizens Caring & Sharing event will take place tomorrow, Saturday December 6 at the Lumberton Fairgrounds. Drive through will begin promptly at 9am. One care package for each household for seniors age 62 or above. Rain or Shine, all care packages will be distributed.
