One of the biggest misconceptions in massage and soft tissue therapy is the belief that “more pain equals more progress.”
Many people have been taught:
• deeper pressure means better therapy
• pain during treatment means it’s working
• soreness afterward means the muscles were “fixed”
But clinically, that is not always true.
The body does not always heal better through force.
Sometimes excessive pressure can:
• increase guarding
• irritate tissue
• overstimulate the nervous system
• create more soreness without better outcomes
At Divine, we believe therapeutic care should work WITH the body, not against it.
Our focus is not simply pressure.
It is:
• intelligent tissue response
• nervous system support
• therapeutic precision
• helping the body feel safe enough to release and recover
Sometimes deeper work IS appropriate.
But depth without strategy is not clinical care.
Healing is not about overpowering the body.
It is about understanding it.
