Through the Alabama Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program, individuals and businesses can direct their state tax payment to Crenshaw Community Hospital and receive a 100% dollar-for-dollar state tax credit.

That means
☑️You’re paying the same taxes you already owe, but instead of those dollars leaving our community

Here’s the important part ⬇️
Once you submit your selection in the MAT system, it becomes a promise to pay.
Payment must be made within 30 days to receive the tax credit

Alabama’s Rural Hospital Investment Program gives individuals and businesses a simple way to keep state tax dollars right here in Crenshaw County while supporting local healthcare.

When you participate, you can donate to Crenshaw Community Hospital and receive a dollar for dollar Alabama state tax credit. This can reduce what you owe on your Alabama state taxes while helping keep healthcare close to home.

How to participate
First, talk to your tax preparer and tell them you want to participate in the Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program.

Second, instruct your tax preparer to select Crenshaw Community Hospital when filing your Alabama state return.

Third, donations can be made through the Alabama Department of Revenue website at
https://www.revenue.alabama.gov/tax-incentives/rural-hospital-investment-tax-credit/

Fourth, once your donation is verified, you receive a dollar for dollar credit on your Alabama state taxes, subject to program limits.

This program is available to both individuals and businesses and allows you to choose to keep your tax dollars working locally instead of going elsewhere in the state.

You may see several local businesses featured in these photos. Being pictured does not mean a donation was made, and not being pictured does not mean we did not stop by. We are simply sharing support for keeping tax dollars local as we visit businesses across Crenshaw County.

📌 What Is the Rural Hospital Tax Credit & How Does It Help Crenshaw County?

Many Alabama taxpayers don’t realize they have the option to direct a portion of their state tax liability to a Rural Health Clinic, keeping those dollars local instead of sending them out of the county.

That’s where the Rural Hospital Tax Credit comes in.

The Rural Hospital Tax Credit allows eligible individuals and businesses to redirect Alabama state taxes they already owe to support a rural hospital.

When designated properly, those funds stay local and help support healthcare services right here in Crenshaw County.
