You’ve probably heard the term PBM lately. It’s a topic that has been in the news and discussed in the Alabama Statehouse and in the U.S. Congress a good bit. Some things to keep in mind about PBMs is that they are multibillion-dollar corporations that control 80% of prescriptions in our country. They are also contributing to the loss of community pharmacies. They don’t take care of a single patient yet make life altering decisions for them. Please support the Patient Access Bill to combat PBM abuse.

You will be told a lot of false things about the Patient Access Bill. The biggest lie you’re likely to hear is that it is a prescription tax. It is NOT. The language of this bill prohibits the PBM and insurance company from passing any cost along to you. It will also allow your pharmacist to have an open conversation with you about cost and payment options. Something they are not allowed to discuss with you now.

SB93 – The Patient Access Bill was introduced in the Alabama Senate today. PBMs and big business interests will do everything in their power to kill it, so your advocacy is critical. This bill will benefit every Alabamian. Tell your legislators, visit them in person, mobilize everyone in your community to do the same. We are stronger together!
