We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr Eric Iwen to our dental team!

Dr. Eric Iwen graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2009. He chose to dedicate the first years of his career at Lake Superior Community Health Center in Duluth and Superior. In 2021, Dr. Eric decided to move to a private practice in Two Harbors, Minnesota where he practiced until August 2024. He served as a preceptor for students from A.T. Still University, which included students from Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, and Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Is iced coffee bad for your teeth? Whether you like yours hot or iced, all coffee is acidic and can lead to tooth sensitivity and increase the risk of cavities if consumed in excess. It can also stain your teeth over time. Many commercially available iced coffees contain added sugars or sweetened syrups, which can promote tooth decay and gum disease if consumed frequently. But don’t worry - we won’t ask you to take away your iced coffee for good!

To minimize potential negative effects on your teeth while enjoying iced coffee:
- Limit consumption of sugary or sweetened varieties.
- Drink through a straw positioned toward the back of your mouth to reduce contact with teeth.
- Rinse your mouth with water after drinking coffee to help neutralize acidity and reduce staining.
- Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing daily.
- Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and professional cleanings.
