Can I just say that when I had the idea to do this, I thought maybe I'd get 200-300 votes and it would be super easy to count them and narrow the teams down.

I was WRONG 😂

Between comments, likes, and shares, I had to HAND COUNT OVER 1700 votes!!!!🤯

I'm so happy you guys are as excited about this as I am!

That being said - let's get down to business!

We've narrowed this down from 20 teams to 8!! This was CLOSE I'm talking the difference between 8th and 10th was 4 votes close! 😮

So this next round is going to be a little shorter 😬 here are the rules again!

What a great day to sit on the couch under a blanket with some hot chocolate and complete your sports physical paperwork! Please go to hasd2.atsusers.com and follow the instructions below. If you need assistance please get in touch with your coach, email an athletic trainer, or see us tomorrow after you get your free physical at the high school! No student athletes will be permitted to practice on Friday without having every step completed online.

Please review the following info on Winter Sports physicals and how to get one:

Date: Wednesday November 12th, 2025 4:30pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Hazleton Area High School Cafeteria
Times will be separated by sport. Please sign up for the time slot corresponding to your sport on the sign-up genius survey below.
4:30 pm: Wrestling, Swimming
5:30 pm: Girls’ Basketball, Bowling
6:30 pm: Boys’ Basketball
7:30 pm: Unified Bocce Ball, Open to all teams as over flow

Once the spots are filled, they are filled.

If your athletes are unable to attend the ones at the High School, We are also offering them at the Express Care on the Beltway. They must sign up though the attached flyer. They may sign up from October 6th to November 21st . I would strongly recommend that they sign up ASAP as spots do fill up.

Also new this year, Student athletes who have a current annual well check on file with their LVHN primary care clinician can have their PIAA physical paperwork signed by their clinician at no charge during the designated physical window dates.

From former Middle School Soccer and current Varsity Girls Head coach, Matt Michelin:

Dear Hazleton Middle School Soccer Families,

I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying your summer.

As many of you know, I recently accepted the position as head coach of the Hazleton Varsity Girls Soccer Team. While I’m excited to take on this new role, it has left multiple openings for coaches of the Hazleton Middle School Soccer Team. Both head and assistant coaching positions are open.

Unfortunately, despite the position being posted for several weeks, we have not yet received any applications. This is where I hope our soccer community can step in.

We are looking for a dedicated, energetic, and positive leader who is passionate about working with middle school athletes. This role is incredibly rewarding and plays a vital part in developing young players both on and off the field. Whether you are a parent, know someone with a background in soccer, or have experience working with youth and would be willing to learn, I encourage you to consider applying or sharing this opportunity. The success of our middle school program is crucial to the continued strength of soccer in our district.

If you or someone you know is interested, please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions, or contact the Hazleton Area School District’s Athletics Department to learn more about the application process.
