Different strokes for different folks. Or in the words of Yoga, same but different. Here, each student closed their practice with chest opening versions of a similar shape, but in different ways depending on their ability or comfort level in their backs. No matter how they worked or ultimately rested, what they achieved was profound and peaceful. A collection of forward folds, shoulder work, an upright pelvis, and leg strengthening in a modified wide triangle deserved this counter pose to bring it all together.

The rope wall, developed by Mr. Iyengar, is one of the most stimulating and useful whole body practices that you can enjoy even if you don’t have a rope wall. One of the things that distinguishes this training is that you will learn how to use a door as your "rope" wall if you don't have an actual rope wall. This makes the material vastly more accessible to participants everywhere who might not have a rope wall and allows you to bring the material to your students if you’re a teacher. You will receive set-up videos prior to the weekend training.

Join me online Sat-Sun May 6-7 for a weekend of practice, discovery and fun.

One of the things that distinguishes this weekend is that you will learn how to use a door as your "rope" wall if you don't have an actual rope wall. This makes the material vastly more accessible to participants everywhere who might not have a rope wall.

Using Wall Ropes and Slings as part of your Yoga and fitness practice is an amazingly satisfying way to mobilize and stabilize the joints, strengthen the limbs and core, practice safe inversions, and rest. Alison, a well-known and creative leader in the field of Ropes and Sling work, will take you through the fundamentals of set-up and the basics of using the ropes and slings. You will then move through a systematic practice of poses for release, range of motion and strength, proprioception and rest . Recordings will make it possible to review the material for a month after the workshop.
