Home care doesn't always mean having a home health aid. Sometimes, a spouse or other relative may be the best one to provide cancer care at home. If you have your DEEOIC "white card", your family caregiver can receive homecare training, get nursing support, and can be paid by the program for their time.

If this sounds like something you'd like to hear more about, give us a call at 434-515-0663. If you worked at BWXT and developed cancer, give us a call to see if you may be eligible for the "white card".

Today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the strength, compassion, and quiet heroism of women everywhere.

At NWA Home Healthcare, we are surrounded by extraordinary women every day. Our dedicated HHAs and nurses bring skill, professionalism, and kindness into the homes of those who need care. Their work changes lives.

But today, we also want to recognize another group of remarkable women, our family caregivers. Many of the caregivers we support are wives and daughters who have stepped into one of the most meaningful and challenging roles there is: caring for someone they love. They advocate, comfort, encourage, and stand beside their family members through every step of the journey. Their care often happens quietly, behind closed doors, driven by love, patience, and an incredible strength of heart.

At NWA Home Healthcare, we are honored to walk alongside these women, providing training, support, and recognition for the essential care they give every day. To all the women who care for others with love and dedication: we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you. 🌷

If there’s a woman in your life who has been a caregiver, we’d love for you to recognize her in the comments today.

For decades, nuclear energy workers have powered the communities around Lynchburg. Many who worked at BWXT facilities now face health challenges, like cancer, related to their service. What they may not know is that specialized healthcare support exists specifically for them through the Department of Labor's Energy Worker "White Card" Program. Here's what you need to know.

Home healthcare isn’t just about medications and vital signs (though our aides are skilled in that too). It’s about helping patients manage the day-to-day challenges—like cooking, bathing, or remembering to take their medications. These little things may not seem like a big deal, but they make all the difference for someone fighting cancer. Here are a few ways in which our aides support cancer care at home.

If you have your DEEOIC "white card" and would like to learn more about how we can support your care at home, give us a call at (434) 515-0663 to schedule a free consultation. If you worked for BWXT and have been diagnosed with cancer, take a look at our Eligibility Checklist (link in the comments below) to see if you could qualify for the program.
