In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, Impact Autism will be donating $1 for every client session completed in April to Puzzled, a local non-profit that focuses on supporting other local Autism programs and events. For more info on Puzzled, check out their website at PuzzledEvents.com.

Did you know that the great majority of businesses, private schools, and doctor's offices are not welcoming to autistic children? Autism families hear A LOT of "we don't do autism," "we aren't equipped," "it's not our thing," and "we don't have the resources to meet his/her needs." Today, we want to highlight and honor those who make autism THEIR THING. They take the time to welcome families who feel isolated and unwelcomed in many settings. Do you have a child with a disability? If so, Impact Autism Services hopes to be able to serve your entire family. We have created a class for siblings of special needs individuals. There are only 10 slots available, so please call today (434-215-3168) if you are interested in your child/children participating in this free service. Meeting times will be November 18, 20, and 22nd (MWF) from 12:15pm- 12:45pm all days. Class content will cover things like "What is autism?," "What do I do when my sibling is having a bad day?," and "How do I communicate with my sibling?"

Sometimes there is no perfect thing to say so we don't say anything. This doesn't help autism parents who already feel isolated. Ask how your loved one's child is doing. It will go a long way.
