Our patients get back to doing what they love! Mary suffered a knee injury on the pickleball court that led her to see Dr. Catherine Martin at our Clifton clinic. A few weeks into therapy, Mary was back playing pickleball and clogging! She is a proud member of the Hill City Cloggers and, thanks to Dr. Martin, she'll be performing with the clogging team at fall festivals in just a few weeks. Celebrating 15 years at Rehab Associates: Catherine Martin, PT, DPT, PhD

In the last 15 years, Dr. Catherine Martin has played a key role in the success of Rehab Associates. Dr. Josh Bailey, CEO and president, notes that “Catherine’s skill as a physical therapist and her leadership aptitude have helped our organization become stronger. She brings out the best in her patients and she mentors our clinical staff in ways that make us all better.”

Dr. Martin is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and is functional movement screen certified. She has a PhD in leadership. Previously, Catherine was site director at our Moneta clinic where she saw the practice grow significantly. She was also site director at our Clifton clinic, which also grew under her leadership. Currently, she is a regional clinical leader and a Rehab Associates partner. Treating patients at our Clifton clinic, Dr. Martin has a special interest in athletes, weekend warriors, post-surgical conditions, and utilizing aquatic therapy. If she had to pick, she would say she loves treating knees and shoulders!

Thank you, Catherine, for 15 years of service to Rehab Associates. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication, perserverence, and leadership! We look forward to seeing the great things that are to come in the years ahead!

How long have you been employed at Rehab Associates? "Since September of 2024."

Where did you grow up? "Rocky Mount, VA"

What would you like to share about your family? "I am extremely close with my family. My entire family, including my siblings and their families, my parents, and my grandmother, eat dinner every Thursday!"

What has made the greatest impact on your life and why? "Becoming an aunt has definitely made the greatest positive impact in my life. My nieces and nephew bring so much joy and purpose to my life. Knowing that I get to make an impact in their lives is truly the greatest gift!"

What is your favorite restaurant/food? "Smith Mountain Lake Coffeehouse - a Westlake favorite!"

What is your life motto? "Small steps still move us forward!"

We love helping you move, heal, and feel your best! Check out a recent review from a patient after her first visit: "I had a great experience with my first physical therapy session. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was seen promptly at my appoinment time. The doctor doing my assessment was knowledgeable and informative but also very friendly. She gave me some challenges but was gentle and compassionate. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to the progress I will see in the next few weeks."
