Rehab Associates is once again part of a fun holiday tradition for the whole family: Festival of the Trees at the Bedford Welcome Center! Now through January 4th, stop by the Welcome Center and wander among the dozens of trees that were decorated by community organizations and businesses. The theme "Small Town Christmas" provided inspiration for everything from classic Christmas charm to fun-filled displays that will make you stop and snap a picture!

While you're there, be sure to vote for the Rehab Associates tree! Each vote is $1.00 and the money our tree raises goes to the Bedford Area Educational Foundation. This organization provides grants for schools and educators in Bedford County and City. Feel free to vote as many times as your holiday spirit desires!

Service Anniversary: 35 Years

Our very own MacGyver, Allen Hamm has been keeping our clinics running for 35 years! As maintenance technician, he is the only person in the practice to have been part of every new clinic opening throughout our history. In fact, he has seen the practice grow from our first clinic on Thomson Drive to our current total of 19 clinics throughout the region. As if that’s not enough, Allen doesn’t say “no” to anything!

“If we need it done, Allen is going to do it,” says Dr. Josh Bailey, president and CEO. “His institutional knowledge is exceptional. From soldering motherboards to making sure our patients have all the supplies they need, Allen is always around when you need him. Pound for pound, he is the strongest guy around.”

Allen’s impact is felt in every corner of our practice. He keeps our clinics safe, functional, and welcoming. But what makes him truly special? All of our employees look forward to seeing him when he stops by each clinic! He is the one who makes sure the equipment works and problems are solved.

Though his hard work happens mostly behind the scenes, Allen loves being part of an organization that makes a difference. As he says, “I enjoy seeing the patients and knowing that what I do contributes to getting them back to doing what they enjoy doing.”

Our Moneta clinic is kicking off the holiday season with a toy drive for local children! Rehab Associates is partnering with Lake Christian Ministries (LCM) to provide toys for the children of low-income residents of Bedford, Franklin, and Pittsylvania counties. In addition to toys at Christmas time, LCM also provides essential resources such as food, clothing, household items, and crisis financial aid.

Good balance is something most of us don't think about until a fall happens! This patient was seen for balance issues and recently graduated from the Bedford clinic with improved balance and better confidence. This success leads to greater independence and better quality of life!

Our patient, who happens to be the aunt of two important Rehab Associates team members, is seen here sporting our FOTO belt, an internal award based on patient responses compiled by Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes (FOTO).

FOTO is an industry-leading system that provides real-time information on the effectiveness of our treatment. Dr. Josh Bailey, our CEO and president, recently attended the APTA Private Practice Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando. Each year, the American Physical Therapy Association hosts a conference to provide valuable information on business management.

While at the conference, Dr. Bailey touched base with the Plethy Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) team. RTM is bridging the gap between in-person visits and at-home care. With this system, our physical therapists are monitoring their patients as they adhere to prescribed exercises, all done remotely! The result? Better outcomes for patients!
