Frankie Gene Lynchard, age 88 of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his Hilly Rock Farm Home. Frankie was born on September 25, 1937, in Sunflower County in the Baltzer community of Mississippi, to the late William E. and Mary (Smith) Lynchard. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Frankie retired from AEDC after twenty-six years and previously worked with TVA for two years. Frankie was a faithful member of County Line Church of Christ when he was able. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking in the woods, fishing, and rabbit and deer hunting. Frankie cheered on the children playing in the Little League World Series and watched Ole Miss and Mississippi State football teams. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit who never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Percy Lee Lynchard, William Robert Lynchard and Jerrell Dee Lynchard. Frankie is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven years, Joyce (Steadman) Lynchard; children, Bryan Andrew (Connie) Lynchard, Laura Lea (Cal) Little and Molly Paige (John) Ledgerwood; grandchildren, Bethany Grace Lynchard, Caleb Andrew Lynchard, Alyssa Lynchard, Dalton (Leslie) Jones, Corrie (Will) King, Tyler (Emily) Ledgerwood, Kylah (Caleb) Manges; great-grandchildren, Mystery, Frankee, Eliza, Kyleigh, Mila, Lachlyn, and Baby Ledgerwood coming in March; sister, Frances McCurley; many nieces, nephews, and honorary children from around the world. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home and on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00am until time of service. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00am from the chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Byron Lawrence, officiating. Interment will follow in New Brick Church of Christ with Dalton Jones, Tyler Ledgerwood, John T. Steadman, Kevin Sheedy, Larry George and Clint Fanning all serving as pallbearers and Caleb Andrew and Mystery both serving as honorary pallbearers.
