Jeremy Blackshire, LPC, LSATP

Jeremy Blackshire, LPC, LSATP With over 12 years of experience, Jeremy specializes in working with individuals who desire to address current life concerns.

His aim is to provide an environment where his clients feel safe enough to explore the uncomfortable topics that life can bring. Starting counseling can be awkward and uncomfortable. Some may view it as “weak.” Jeremy believes it takes great strength and courage to share on personal experiences and challenges, especially with a stranger. Jeremy believes that regardless of past experiences an indiv

idual can achieve their highest potential when given the opportunity to explore and develop necessary skills with the ultimate goal of healing. Jeremy works to empower his clients to identify their goals, and work towards achieving their desired outcome while providing a space to be heard (sometimes for the first time). With over 12 years of experience, Jeremy specializes in working with individuals who struggle with concerns of inter/intrapersonal conflict, family / marriage conflict, boundaries, life adjustments, behavioral / emotional concerns, trauma, addiction and more. Understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship with his clients, Jeremy incorporates a variety of therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Trauma informed approaches in order to best meet each client where they are. If you are ready to explore a new path on your journey, Jeremy welcomes the opportunity to listen and support you in this process.

Pain is an opportunity to grow.

When you choose to learn from it, you turn your struggles into strength. Your experiences can become a source of hope and guidance for others.

Drop a 💛 if there’s been a time when your painful experiences were able to help you guide or support someone else through a similar challenge.

Somewhere along the way, most of us learned to measure ourselves by how others treated us. If they were dismissive, we assumed something was wrong with us. If they were cold, we figured we must have deserved it.

Your non-conscious mind absorbed that equation early. And it still runs it.
Here's what the research shows: how someone treats you is the output of their own accumulated patterns. Their history, their wounds, their unprocessed experiences. Their non-conscious mind in motion.

When someone's behavior toward you is cold or unkind, that's information about what's running in them. A pattern their mind built long before you entered the picture.
You were never the variable being measured.

Forward this to the friend who's been reading too much into how someone's been treating them lately. ❤️‍🩹

Your pain is real. What you've been through is real. And none of that is up for debate.

And the people on the receiving end of your reactions didn't cause it. That tension is one of the hardest things to sit with. Because it means two things can be true at the same time: you are someone who has been hurt, and you are someone whose patterns may be hurting others. That's not a comfortable sentence. It's also not a reason to shut down.

This week's episode is for the person who is self-aware enough to ask the hard question, and brave enough to want an answer. Five steps to recognize the patterns running beneath your responses, starting with the one most people skip: seeing yourself clearly, with accuracy and with kindness toward yourself.

You don't have to choose between understanding your past and taking responsibility for your present. That's the work. And it starts here.

New episode out now. "You Might Be the Problem: 5 Steps to Fix It" 🧠🎧

True healing often involves a combination of spiritual wisdom, community support, and professional guidance.

By embracing these resources, we open ourselves up to the full spectrum of healing God offers us. You wouldn’t tell someone with a broken leg to “pray about it” instead of seeing a doctor. Don’t dismiss professional mental health support as unnecessary... even for people of faith.

Your journey toward emotional and spiritual health matters. Not just for your own well-being, but for your ability to live out your calling and positively impact those around you.

Take that first step today, and trust that God will meet you on the path of integrated healing.

Today’s Mental Health Reset
When your mind feels crowded, try this small but powerful shift:
Slow down the moment, not the whole day.

You don’t have to overhaul everything to feel better. Sometimes it’s enough to pause for 30 seconds and check in with yourself:

What’s one thing I need right now?

What’s one thing I can let go of today?

What’s one small action that would help me feel grounded?

Tiny adjustments add up. You deserve moments of calm, even on busy days.

If you feel comfortable, share one small thing you’re doing today to take care of yourself. Someone else might need that idea more than you know.

🌿 Midweek Mental Health Check-In
Stress has a way of sneaking up on us—especially when life feels busy, structured, or full of expectations. One simple grounding skill that can make a real difference is “Name 3 Things”:

Name 3 things you can see

Name 3 things you can hear

Name 3 things your body can feel (feet on the floor, back in the chair, air on your skin)

This quick reset helps bring your mind out of the “what ifs” and back into the present moment, where things are usually more manageable than they feel.

What’s one grounding or coping skill that works well for you when stress shows up?
Share below—your idea might help someone else today. 🌱

For those who need help but don't know where to ask:

It is an amazing thing seeing clearly for the first time since getting clean and sober. There is nothing like it. I was there, I didn't think I had a problem, I slowed at work, I didn't give af about anything but my next pill, drug or alcohol. We as addicts and alcoholics, don't want to see that we have a problem. BUT I DID, A BIG ONE.

Sometimes it takes hitting tock bottom and for God to intervene, like he did for me, before we are ready to handle the big elephant in the room.

Tell somebody you need help, turn to God, go to rehab, and work the program like ur life depends on it, because it does!!!!!! Help is out there and you are not alone!!!!!!
Ask for it!
🙏🏼

When people see how thorough I am, they’ll say, “You must have OCD.”
I don’t.

My cleaning isn’t driven by intrusive thoughts, fear, or anxiety. I don’t clean because my brain is telling me something bad will happen if I don’t. I clean because I genuinely enjoy it and I’ve built skill, knowledge, and pride around doing it well.

There’s a big difference between choosing to be detailed and being compelled by distress.

OCD isn’t about liking to clean. For many people who actually live with OCD, it’s not about cleaning at all it’s about intrusive thoughts and compulsions that feel exhausting and out of their control.

Enjoying cleaning doesn’t equal OCD.
Being detail-oriented doesn’t equal OCD.

Words matter, and being mindful with them helps respect what people with true OCD go through every day.

The relationships you maintain have a profound impact on your well-being. Your circle should lift you up, not weigh you down.

Think about your current relationships. Who brings peace? Who brings chaos? It’s okay to set boundaries with those who consistently drain you.
