Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) is a substance use treatment model designed to be integrated with psychosocial and/or behavioral health services.

In this program, individuals receive opioid assistive treatment with suboxone on a weekly basis for the first three months of the program. The interdisciplinary OBAT team consists of a prescriber, case manager, medical assistant and an outpatient therapist who, together, help their clients fully-reintegrate into their community.

💙 National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week 💙

This week, we’re proud to recognize the incredible work of our LPD Co-Response Team.

This innovative program pairs a specially trained LPD officer with a Horizon Behavioral Health mental health professional to respond to calls for service. Together, they provide compassionate support, explore alternatives to traditional enforcement, and connect individuals and families with the resources they need during and after a crisis.

Their mission is simple but powerful: help in the moment and ensure follow-up care so no one has to navigate a crisis alone.

Thank you to our Co-Response Team for making Lynchburg a safer, healthier community for everyone. 💙

Thank YOU to everyone who spent their Saturday with us celebrating the “Ride of Our Lives”! Each year we are so encouraged to ride together with our community and partners who share the same passion for speaking up about mental health and su***de.
Thank you for waving your green flag with us.
Thank you for caring about this important cause. And THANK YOU for joining us in word and in action!

We already can’t wait to go kickstands up again in fall 2026!

A heartfelt thank you to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Harley Davidson of Lynchburg, CMA’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Lynchburg, NAMI Lynchburg, Living On, and the Su***de Prevention Awareness Coalition of Central Virginia for partnering with us to make this year’s ride possible.

“It is something special to share a bond with others whose passions align with your own and it keeps me going on the most challenging of days to know that there are so many who are passionately fighting for the same cause all year long – to end su***de and provide support for individuals and families impacted by mental illness. We love this ride, and this time together because it inspires us anew year after year.”
- Melissa Lucy, CEO Horizon Behavioral Health
