Louisville what is this going to do to our local news and propaganda?

Louisville help!!

I will be attending Metro City Council meeting this Thursday night to face city council with some of my peers (Licensed Massage Therapist) trying desperately to stop this ordinance about massage therapy and sx trafficking.

What I know for sure.

Most of the Republicans in council are pushing this through and the democrats are on our side to have this reviewed before enacting.

The guidelines are heaving contradictory and do nothing to solve the issue.

Lead council person Hudson does not realize that a law was already passed about this issue in 2007 and it already has excluded LMT’s as licensed practices and when questioned he did not know this but has refused to acknowledge.

The language on whether a sole Proprietorship and LLC are both required are unclear. I was told allegedly the ABC (the department that oversees to***co and alcohol) are part of this enforcement and some of my peers were told a Sole P is required to get this license.

I am on three highly reputable LMT LOCAL pages and the intensity of the confusion and how this is written is ludicrous and borders illegal.

I am emailing my city council this morning with a long list of talking points on getting this ordinance repeals or at best stalled until our professional industry is consulted.

I was told two LMTS ALLEGEDLY were a part of Hudson’s implementation of this ordinance were not given the right to see the final version and were not a part of the sum total of what was written.

I will update everyone as soon as I can and I beg-of you to contact your city council and email them to say STOP THIS LMT ordinance Now!!!

They are going to put all independent LMT’s out of business if this passes because the compliance is almost impossible.

Lastly I am pulling several articles on how Licensed Massage Therapy is considered an adjacent to any and all medical services and the contraindications for massage are few and far between.

Make no mistake about it, we will not stop fighting this ordinance and so, our work for justice continues.

Thanks to you ALL!

I want to thank every local LMT for being vocal about this new ordinance.

I have not made a meeting because of work BUT I am behind the scenes praying for the proper outcomes.

I want the World to recognize us as one of the top leading providers of pain and stress relief ever to work in a public setting.

In August I reopened my LLC After taking a business break for three years.

I have a 10 year steady client base that has followed me all over the city when ℹ professionally and personally changed directions.

I continues to educate myself spending thousands of dollars in national certifications and have been a reiki master teacher for close to a decade.

I have worked with wellness centers and although love partnership I also have to be true to myself when contracts expire. (Or sadly were never written).

I have spent hundreds of man hours promoting other small business.

I have been a long term BNI member (growing too fast) a member of Jtown Chamber and also I am a current wellness business at LIBA.

(Keeping Louisville weird with my Spiritual Wellness Podcast.)

I have built women’s circles and publicly acknowledged our healing community as such.

Our work is unique to each person and the level of licenses massage therapist we have in Louisville is exceptional.

I get 2-3 massages a month and have been in spiritual wellness training for years.

I am a certified 200 hour yoga teacher and a certified Bible coach.

I teach WICCA, Tarot, Mythology and Astrology and pay my corporate taxes in this business model.

I also have a family and a body as a human.

I teach my clients self care in thousands of ways.

I am a certifed holistic fitness coach and a holistic health coach.

I am also a certifed Aromatherapist.

Essential Oil is medically used and we MUST know what these plant extractions do for a body.

I am not a joke nor do I have ANY s*x trafficking settings. Ever!

I have had one male person try me (who ironically was in my business networking space) and i immediately flipped in the light, told him this session was over and we would talk when he got dressed). Lots to the story and I won’t name names but I assure you he NEVER booked with me again.

Your local businesses are important and I am praying on where I step in and “fight” a system that clearly does not understand what we are. Or who we are.

I am allowing my anger of government overreach to be healed starting now. I did not obtain this license YET because I am only had about 12 people a month at my LLC office off of Goldsmith Lane. I was losing money as a re-Start up business and I had just dropped $4000 in education for my last 4 Certification. (I am a student at Trinity School of Natural Health). I do not agree with how this ordinance came about nor was written without professional input. That is a fact.

I say all this because many of you are my massage peers and have been a provider for me!!!

I am pursuing a career of total wellness as a business but I am also very protective of our massage craft.

I see all of you and I am stepping in on my own terms as a local business women to hold city offices accountable.

It’s a scary place to be as a massage therapist because you are not trying to p**s anyone off.

We are trying to help people heal.

Update for March 1st at The Reiki Station!
Ok you all!
Massage has been REMOVED from the service menu however I will see clients for all other Reiki, YOGA, COACHING services starting Monday March 9th and ONLY have room for one NOON appointment per week.
Since I have my office paid up through the end of June, and I have already had people ask me about Reiki Training and Reiki ONLY sessions this week, I am going to offer a once a week option to have a metaphysical session but please be clear this is not massage...
You can do Health, Fitness and Wellness coaching at my office. You can do traditional Reiki or learn Reiki as a certified provider or you can come do a natal chart or a tarot card reading.
All Reiki sessions will include sound bowls and aromatherapy.
