These middlemen have been driving up prescription costs, limiting patient access to vital medications, and threatening the very existence of our local pharmacies. Operation 45 is our response—a powerful campaign to combat these abuses and stand up for what’s right!

At the heart of this campaign is our PBM bill, SB45, a bill designed to restore transparency and fairness to the pharmacy industry. This bill gives patients a stronger voice and ensures that pharmacies can continue to serve their communities without the overwhelming interference of PBMs.

HB 196 has passed out of the Georgia House of Representatives with a vote of 168-0. The bill would require all State Health Benefit Plans and University Systems to reimburse pharmacists using a transparent, index based price, plus a dispensing fee (NADAC plus $10.64). It now goes to the Georgia Senate on Monday for consideration.

A very big thank you to our members for mobilizing and calling their representatives, making sure they know how critical fair and equitable reimbursement is to all of our pharmacies in the state.

‼️NCPA is joining a class action lawsuit against GoodRx as well as CVS Caremark Corp.; Express Scripts, Inc.; MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc.; and Navitus Health Solutions, LLC, accusing them of colluding in a price-fixing scheme to fix reimbursements to independent pharmacies. “GoodRx’s business model already potentially misleads consumers by preferentially listing some large chain pharmacies in their search results despite the higher-ranked pharmacies having higher prices, excluding nearly all independent pharmacies from appearing in the results,” said NCPA CEO Douglas Hoey. “The actions alleged in this class action suit further disadvantage small businesses and cater to PBMs.”
