May is Maternal Health Awareness Month đЎ
And this one matters.
Because maternal mental health affects 1 in 5 women⌠and it does not always look the way people think it will.
Sometimes it looks like postpartum depression.
Sometimes it looks like anxiety that never lets your mind rest.
Sometimes it looks like intrusive thoughts that scare you.
Sometimes it looks like rage you do not even recognize in yourself.
Sometimes it looks like crying in the car, snapping over the smallest thing, feeling touched out, overwhelmed, exhausted, and still trying to keep everyone else okay.
And sometimes⌠it is all of it at once.
You can love your baby with your whole heart and still be struggling.
You can be grateful and still feel like you are drowning.
You can look like you have it together and still feel completely disconnected from yourself.
That does not make you weak.
That does not mean you are failing.
That means you need support, and you deserve it.
Your nervous system, your body, your mind, and your healing all matter in this season. Postpartum care should not just be about âbouncing back.â It should be about helping you feel supported, heard, regulated, and cared for while you adjust to one of the biggest transitions of your life.
If you are in this season and feel like something is off, please know you are not alone. And you do not have to keep pushing through silently.
We are here to support moms no matter what your story of being a new mom looks like.
