🧠May is National Stroke Awareness Month
At Nurse Practitioner Associates, National Stroke Awareness Month holds special meaning. One of our own has walked this journey — as a daughter to a father who has survived multiple strokes. His strength and resilience are a daily reminder of why awareness, early detection, and compassionate care matter so deeply.
Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the U.S., but it’s also largely preventable and treatable — especially when recognized quickly.
🚨 Know the signs of stroke — F.A.S.T.:
• Face drooping
• Arm weakness
• Speech difficulty
• Time to call 911
Stroke doesn’t just impact individuals — it affects entire families. We’ve seen it firsthand. That’s why we’re committed to helping our patients and community understand the risks, recognize the symptoms, and take preventive steps.
How you can lower your risk:
âś… Manage blood pressure
âś… Stay physically active
âś… Eat a balanced diet
âś… Quit smoking
âś… Limit alcohol
If you or a loved one is at risk, we’re here to help. Let this month be a time to educate, support, and honor the journey of all stroke survivors and caregivers.
Let’s act F.A.S.T. — because every second counts.
