Stuck in a Medicare Advantage plan that's not working for you? You're not trapped.

Here's how to make the switch. You get two enrollment windows each year:

• Oct 15-Dec 7 (changes start Jan 1)
• Jan 1-Mar 31 (changes start the next month)

How to leave: Call 1-800-MEDICARE or sign up for a Medicare Part D drug plan (automatically switches you back to Original Medicare).

You can make changes anytime if : You move, enter a nursing home or lose other coverage.

Pro tip: Have your next coverage ready before you leave!

Medicare can be confusing, but you’ve got options!

Think you can work and keep your disability benefits? The number that matters might surprise you.
Gross vs. Net Income for Return to Work:

• Gross Income = Your pay before taxes and deductions
• Net Income = What you actually take home

Here's the catch: Social Security looks at your GROSS income to determine if you're exceeding substantial gainful activity limits, not what you actually pocket.

What this means:
• Your $1,500 gross paycheck might only be $1,200 net after taxes
• But Social Security counts the full $1,500 toward work limits
• If you're in your Trial Work Period, they use gross earnings to count your trial months

Bottom line: Plan your return-to-work budget around net income, but know that benefit decisions are based on gross income.

Always report your wages promptly to Social Security to ensure you get the benefits you're entitled to.

Through Social Security’s Ticket to Work (TTW) program, eligible individuals with disabilities can explore employment opportunities without immediately losing Medicare coverage.

Here’s what’s important to know:

If you qualify for SSDI and enroll in TTW, you may keep Medicare coverage for up to 93 months after cash benefits stop, giving you time to transition back into the workforce with confidence.

This program was designed to reduce fear, not support - because health shouldn’t be the price of progress.

As of April 14, the Social Security Administration (SSA) implemented enhanced fraud prevention tools to better protect telephone claims.

For the first time, all claim types can now be completed over the phone, making the process more accessible for those who can’t apply online or visit an office.

These new tools help flag suspicious activity and prompt in-person identity verification when needed, ensuring legitimate claims are processed efficiently while keeping beneficiaries safe.
This is more than a tech upgrade.

It’s a step toward balancing security and accessibility, especially for seniors, individuals with disabilities and caregivers navigating complex systems.

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that impacts the ability to speak, move and eventually breathe, yet awareness and research funding remain limited.

This month is a reminder: advocacy matters. Compassion matters. Support matters.

For those living with ALS and the families beside them, let’s keep the conversation going.

What if trying to work didn’t mean risking everything?

That was the big idea behind Ticket to Work, a free program helping people with disabilities explore employment since 1999. The goal? Make it easier to try working without losing the healthcare and support that keeps you going.

So far, over 1.7 million people have used their “ticket” to take a chance on something new: a job, a paycheck, a future.

It’s pretty straightforward. If you’re between 18 and 64, receiving disability benefits, and interested in working, you can sign up.

After 25 years, the numbers speak for themselves. Over one million people have used Ticket to Work to move forward on their own terms. Ready to see what’s possible? Contact us today, or join our Ticket to
