Sara began practicing yoga in 2008 and felt instantly connected to the physical poses. With time, she saw how effort on her mat began to seep into her everyday life, causing her to be more compassionate, relaxed, patient, and much less reactive. She finally realized her dream of becoming a yoga teacher in 2014. Throughout her personal practice, Sara has dealt with her share of preventable injuries
. These frustrating mishaps could have been prevented with more individualized attention and instruction that she wasn’t able to find in large studio classes. After pulling way back in her personal practice for over a year, Sara learned the serious importance of proper alignment in poses. It is this difficult lesson that lead her to consider a need in the yoga world: individualized sessions focused on alignment that helps to meet students exactly where they are, instead of teaching to average level of class. Sara believes strongly that yoga is accessible to all people, bodies, and minds, and seeks to hold a space for every individual in her class, workshop, or private lesson. In a private session, you direct the flow through your interests, injuries, and goals. Sara provides biofeedback and corrects for proper alignment so that her students can lead an injury-free practice. Additionally, Sara loves to work with clients who are dealing with injuries to get them back to their practice safely. As a teacher, Sara loves to have fun in her classes, work up a sweat, and lead students into places they have never gone before. You can expect her to crack a joke in boat pose, give you space to set an intention, and work into deep postures alongside you. Outside of the studio, she enjoys many activities including traveling, cooking, grocery shopping, spontaneously bursting out into song, and spending time with her partner Jason and their adventurous and giggly kids, Chris and Rainier. You can spot Sara at her home studio in Lynnwood and at local studios teaching a variety of classes, workshops, private sessions, and retreats.
