Time goes by too fast now a days and we seem to take it for granted. Just like hearing the same noise over and over we become numb to it. We forget the days when we came home and waited for the phone to ring… or even further back the days we waited months to see a loved one. Just like hearing the fire alarm for the 20th time and thinking “oh life is fine, it’s just the same thing!”.

But what if this moment, this time, something was different?! What if that fire was at your mom’s house?! What if we took the time and appreciation to slow down and enjoy the moments. What if we reflected on how far we came and how much we have over come?! Would we maybe be a little more grateful? Would we maybe be a little more patient or compassionate?!

Look how far the cat has come… over years and years and years… same noise generation after generation until one day something was different. Did you even know how amazing these creatures have become and adopted to us over the years?! How much have you adopted to the world around you and let it change you?!

We all know the holidays are here. For some it’s a festive time and a reminder of all the things we have to be grateful for. I could go on with example after example of books, songs, movies or even scriptures about how love is like a fire. Love can feel like a new spark of a flame or love can burn you just as much. There are so many examples or references because the concepts are so true! Especially now more than ever. But because we have the ability now to throw some gasoline on a large pile of logs and watch it go up in flames… that is exactly why we think we can “Netflix and chill” and end up happily ever after, end of story....

Sometimes it’s ok to just say “I don’t understand”… because you genuinely just don’t understand. We are all so different now a days and there is beauty in our uniqueness. Yet on the other hand we all want to feel accepted and have some common ground with someone so that we can feel connected with them.
