Wild Heart Center for Nature & Psyche

Wild Heart Center for Nature & Psyche The Wild Heart Center for Nature and Psyche offers support for rewilding the human spirit.

Gene Dilworth is dedicated to the project of rewilding the human spirit as an essential dimension of being fully alive in these times. By nurturing meaningful relationship with the more-than-human world and facilitating deep inquiry into the mystery of one’s true nature, he supports individuals to discover, re-member and live from the center of their soul-rooted sense of belonging to the world. With degrees in ecology and ecopsychology, Gene has been guiding groups and individuals in transformative nature-based experiences since 1986. He formerly was adjunct faculty in environmental studies and ecopsychology at a small university, has been a university academic administrator and has served in a number of administrative and leadership roles in educational and environmental organizations. Lauren Golten is a nature-based therapist and group facilitator, grounded in many years of working in nature and practicing mindfulness. Lauren currently works with groups and individual clients in private practice, is a facilitator with Convergence 3C, and is a trainer and facilitator with the Matrix Leadership Institute. She is trained in the Hakomi Method of Psychotherapy and has spent a number of years exploring and training in the nature-based healing work of the Animas Valley Institute. She holds an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology & Wilderness Therapy, an MS in Field Biology & Natural History, and a BA in Ecology. Her practice is based in the mountains near Boulder where she facilitates clients' connections with themselves, others, and the natural world. As a former wildlife biologist/ecologist, Lauren views both the human and more-than-human worlds as living systems. With her clients, she fosters the conditions that support living systems to thrive: connection, acceptance, diversity and belonging. Drawing on the principles of Hakomi therapy, as well as her foundational practices of mindfulness and loving kindness, Lauren creates an environment of inclusion and acceptance of all aspects of the human experience. Following her passion for nature-based practices and deep personal growth and exploration in the natural world, Lauren loves to work outdoors with clients whenever possible. In addition to doing intensive work with individual clients, Lauren delights in weaving small groups together, finding that sometimes the deepest healing work occurs in groups. In facilitating groups, Lauren draws on her experience as a trainer and facilitator for the Matrix Leadership Institute and Convergence 3C.

In times of trouble, as Wendell Berry suggests, we trust in the regenerative power of turning toward Earth and Soul for guidance, inspiration, support, strength and resilience. Engaging in this practice together, in community, is what we do in all of our programs at Wild Heart Center.

We would love for you join us for one or more of these upcoming events:

Saturday, March 22 -- Spring Equinox Gathering -- Join us as we celebrate the cycles of the living world and ceremonially welcome the arrival of Spring. (Almost full, just a few more open spots!)

Saturday, April 12 -- Coming Back to Life: Gratitude, Grief and Wonder in Wild Nature -- Join us as we gather to courageously acknowledge and share our pain, grief and despair for the world, while grounding and resourcing ourselves in deep connection with wild nature and a supportive human community.

Sunday, June 1 -- Nature-based Writing Circle: Join Lauren Golten and April Tierney for an immersive day of writing as a reciprocal practice of personal inquiry and deep listening to the land. (Details coming soon -- let us know now if you are interested!)

Saturday, June 21 -- Summer Solstice (Save the date, details coming soon!)

We are looking forward to two exciting Wild Earth Practice Days in October and November!

Come join us October 26 for Rewilding Heart: Awakening to a Living World, a daylong immersion at the intersection of wild nature and the wild within, as we discover and explore the richness of being an embodied, wildly alive human being as an essential part of the web of the living world.

And on November 17, join us for our newest daylong immersion -- In a Dark Time, the Eye Begins to See: Exploring What is Hidden in the Shadow -- an introduction to nature-based, soul-centered shadow work. Shadow hides or disguises what we don't yet know is true about ourselves, and what might be a missing key to embodying some of our most authentic and soul-rooted gifts. Come join us for a playful and profound day of discovery!
