In response to the recent measles outbreak, Lyons Family Care is now offering an early dose of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine for infants 6–11 months old.

This extra dose is recommended by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide added protection during this high-risk time. It does not replace the routine MMR doses at 12 months and 4–6 years.

A measles case has been confirmed in Sedgwick County While there are no known cases in Rice County at this time, Lyons Family Care encourages our community to stay aware and ensure vaccinations are current.

A case of measles has been confirmed in Sedgwick County. While there are currently no reported cases in Rice County, we encourage our community to stay informed and take steps to protect their health. Measles is highly contagious — but preventable with the MMR vaccine.
