📢 MEET THE STAFF!!!

Tammy Raulerson is the Director of Admissions at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home on the BCMS campus. She is an integral part of placing residents in our care. She talks with the family members, answers all their questions, and makes visits to meet potential residents for short- or long-term care. Tammy has a heart for this community and is a vital part of the amazing care given at the nursing home.

Q: How did your career at BCMS start?
I have served this community for over 25 years. I had an opportunity to come to W. Franks Wells Nursing Home as the Director of Admissions and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. This group of co-workers that I have here are more like family.

Q: Why did you decide to become the Director of Admissions? I believe that placing your loved one whether it be for short term rehab or Long-term care is a huge decision. I am passionate about helping families and Resident understand all that we have to offer and knowing that when they come here, that they are safe and very well taken care of. There is something special about the atmosphere in this facility and I believe it has everything to do with the people in it, from caretakers to residents and even their families.

Q: What do your day-to-day responsibilities usually look like? I am responsible for building census. That means that I am reviewing referrals, answering phone calls from family members about possible placement, educating them on the process. I also travel to other medical facilities to access patients to ensure that we are able to meet their needs here. Safety is our main concern, and we need to know that the patient is right for our facility.

Q: What makes you proud to be the Director of Admissions? I love this community; I love the people in it, and I believe in our services here at BCMS. Our staff genuinely care about the residents. Building relationships with families and residents is my passion. I believe in W. Frank Wells Nursing Home and that is what makes me so passionate about my position here.

Q: Why do you like working for BCMS? I LOVE it here. The slogan “we treat you like family” is not just a slogan!! I love coming to work every day and the people that I surround myself with.

Q: What is one fun fact about yourself? I am obsessed with the Television Show “FRIENDS.” I have watched every episode many, many times. It is good for the soul.

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July.

Sarah Underwood is the Director of Nursing at Frank Wells Nursing Home. She leads her team with amazing care and compassion for the residents. We are thrilled to have Sarah as part of the dedicated local resources right here on the BCMS campus.

❔: How did your career at BCMS start?
I started my career at BCMS about a year ago as a PRN nurse. The atmosphere of care and compassion was so welcoming!

❔: Why did you decide to become a nurse?
When I was younger my Papaw was ill and had numerous hospital stays and doctor visits which eventually led to him being on hemodialysis. His encounters with the nurses always seemed to boost his spirits. They helped make his visits not so dreadful. This inspired me to be a nurse.

❔: What do your day-to-day responsibilities usually look like?
My day-to-day responsibilities are to oversee the clinical aspects of the nursing home as the Director of Nursing. Frank Wells employs exceptional staff trained in short-term and long-term rehab. It is an amazing place to work.

❔: What makes you proud to be a nurse?
The nursing culture as a whole makes me proud. Times like the COVID pandemic were extremely hard times for nursing, but nurses were the ones that continued to show up to take care of their communities.

❔: Why do you like working for BCMS?
The obvious care and concern for the community's health and wellbeing is evident at BCMS. It truly is a wonderful place to work.

❔: What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I love being outside and spending time with my husband and two boys! I am a true crime podcast ju**ie! I listen to them constantly!
