Amy is our Director of Nursing at Frank Wells Nursing Home. She greets everyone with a smile especially when working with the residents and when talking with their family members. We are very happy to have her on our team!
Q: How did your career at BCMS start?
In May of last year, I began my career with BCMS as Director of Nursing at Frank Wells Nursing Home.
Q: Why did you decide to become a nurse?
My Aunt Laurie inspired me to become a nurse. Iâve always loved taking care of people and her compassion and love of caring for others left a lasting impression on me. I wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse just like her.
Q: What do your day-to-day responsibilities usually look like?
My day-to-day responsibilities are to oversee the clinical aspects of the nursing home. My most important responsibility is ensuring our residents have the best quality of life and receive the best care.
Q: What makes you proud to be a nurse?
Having the opportunity to care for people during some of the most vulnerable moments, hopefully making a positive difference in someoneâs life every day, and being an advocate for my patients and their families. Working at Frank Wells allows me to truly know my residents in our community and have that opportunity to build relationships with them and their families.
Q: What is one fun fact about yourself?
I love to read; I am such a book worm! My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my husband, kids, and my grandson Boden. He is my favorite person ever.
