We’re still on cloud nine after yesterday’s exciting SHAPE award presentation with the Maine Department of Labor. It was a team effort and the result of hard work over many months which earned us this recognition for our commitment to workplace safety and health. Way to go, team! 🏆

🏆 We’re proud to share that we received the SHAPE Award from the Maine Department of Labor!

This award recognizes public employers who go above and beyond to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

Thank you to Commissioner Laura Fortman, Bureau of Labor Standards Director Kate Burkhart, Workplace Safety and Health Division Director Steve Greeley, and Program Manager Mary Matthews for joining us in Machias to present this award and tour our Home. And a huge shoutout to our incredible team who make safety a top priority every day!

We recently celebrated two residents who were recognized through the Maine Health Care Association Remember ME program which honors pioneering, innovative, and historically significant residents living in Maine’s long‐term care facilities.🏅

Wenona Small received an Honorable Mention for her inspiring story, and Robert (Bob) Young—who joined MVH after being honored at Marshall Health Care—was also recognized as an Honorable Mention recipient.

We gathered with their families, friends, fellow residents, and staff to present their awards. 💙

☀️ The weather on Father’s Day was beautiful! We fired up the grill and celebrated our amazing dads with a delicious cookout—BBQ ribs, fresh salads, and classic banana splits for dessert! 🍖🥗🍌🍨

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day extra special. It was the perfect way to honor the fathers who mean so much to us! ❤️

A big thank-you to Machias Post 9 Auxiliary for delivering pizza to the Home in true style—escorted by the Legion Riders! 🎖️

Residents loved coming outside to visit with the riders and check out their impressive motorcycles. 💬✨

🍀🌍 We kicked off our St. Patrick’s Day celebration with a virtual tour of Ireland, complete with pretzels and Irish pub cheese — giving everyone a taste of the Emerald Isle!

In the afternoon, the festivities continued with a party featuring Shamrock shakes, sweet cookies, and beautiful live Irish music performed by our very own Chris, cook in our dietary department, and his talented wife, Lauren. 🌍🍀
