I enjoy working with clients as they make empowering discoveries about themselves while delving into the complicated stuff of life. My clients experience a non-judgmental, caring, and relaxing atmosphere that promotes personal growth and healing. Everyone comes to therapy with unique challenges and needs, so I use an individualized and integrated approach which includes Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and a Positive Psychology model. My goal is always to help my clients recognize their inherent strengths so they can realize their full potential. My experience includes working with children of divorce, adolescents, adults, couples and families who are experiencing anxiety, depression, substance abuse struggles, relationship/parenting challenges, grief and loss issues and sexual abuse. I also have extensive experience working with adults who have mild traumatic brain injury and other co-occurring mental health concerns. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength and often the first step in living a life with more awareness and well-being. In order to start you on this path of self-discovery and healing, I offer flexible scheduling including evening and weekend appointments. I accept a limited number of health insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, United Health Care, Magellan, and Value Options. There is also the private pay option which many of my client's prefer because then they or their children are not required to be labeled with a mental health disorder in order to receive services. depending on the service provided.

Healthy Communication Tip for Couples:

Before quickly reacting, try saying:

“I want to make sure I’m hearing you right—can you say more?”

This small window gives us a chance to breathe, maybe even briefly imagine a beautiful place to calm your nervous system, and then actively listen to your partner. They may be able to clear up a misunderstanding before we unconsciously fight an old conflict that isn’t actually in this moment.
