Well done and congratulations to the Dearborn Heights Firefighters, for the first time in a decade, the department is fully staffed.
Serving a community of approximately 60,033 residents, the department consistently handles a call volume of over 9,000 fire and EMS incidents each year. With a roster now at 59 firefighters and one administrative staff member, this milestone reflects a significant step toward strengthening service delivery and public safety.
“Proper staffing should reduce overtime and lessen the physical and mental strain on our firefighters,” Phil Hall said, Dearborn Heights deputy fire chief.
A fully staffed department isn’t just a number, it’s faster response times, better coverage, and improved safety for both residents and firefighters.
The Macomb Township Fire Department serves a population of 100,000 residents across 36 square miles, operating out of 4 fire stations with 36 full-time firefighters.
