An afternoon filled with fun, sweet treats, and an amazing performance by Bill Maakestad to celebrate our 90’s party.

Our honorees were dressed to impress with vivid orchid corsages wrapped in pearls and stunning boutonnieres that shimmered with purple and blue, just as bold and beautiful as they are.

The sweet treats were just as delightful: dark chocolate and vanilla bean cupcakes topped with a festive “90” swirl in vibrant purple to perfectly match the orchids. 🧁✨

Setting the tone for the afternoon was the always-popular Bill Maakestad, filling the room with guitar and lyrics spanning decades of music, sparking smiles, memories, and plenty of toe-tapping along the way. 🎸🎶

It was an afternoon full of laughter, music, and well-deserved celebration, because turning 90 is nothing short of remarkable.

Beautiful day today celebrating our bicentennial at McDonough County Courthouse. I wasn’t born here but I married one of the last babies born at St.Francis Hospital. We love this county and especially how much they care for our Seniors !

Congrats to Krista Little, Jada Hill, Jessa Cameron, Chelsey Gravelle! We are so proud to celebrate our Employees of the Quarter and the incredible people who make Wesley Village such a special place every day.

We were also honored to present two of our most prestigious recognitions: the Pamela Blake McLean Selfless Service Award and the Prentice Award. These are highly sought-after honors that reflect extraordinary commitment, leadership, and a true servant’s heart. Being selected for either award is a testament to going above and beyond in every sense.

From our amazing nurses and CNA's who deliver compassionate care with skill and heart, to our fun and dedicated Food Service team who serve smiles right along with every meal, excellence shows up in countless ways here.

Our hard working Environmental Services staff deserve special recognition for keeping our campus clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, families, and one another, often behind the scenes, but never unnoticed.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients. Your dedication, teamwork, and passion truly define the spirit of Wesley Village, and we are grateful for each of you.

This year was extra special for me. Each time I pulled out a sign or created one with a name I knew and loved, my heart paused. So many of those names carried stories, faces, laughter, and moments that shaped who I am and why this season means so much to me. It became a beautiful and unexpected walk down memory lane.

In those moments, the countless hours spent fixing lights, straightening trees, and standing outside longer than I probably should have didn’t feel like work at all. Every memory made it feel meaningful. Every name reminded me why we do this. I felt surrounded by love, gratitude, and the quiet comfort of remembering those who still shine so brightly in our hearts.

This season, those lights were more than decorations. They were memories, connections, and love glowing in the darkness, and I wouldn’t trade that feeling for anything.
