One of the perks of having the best seats in town for the Macon Bacon games is being able to share the experience with our students, graduates, clients, and friends. ⚾️🥓

At Pillar EMS Academy, we believe relationships matter both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it’s celebrating current students, reconnecting with past graduates, or spending time with the people who support our mission, nights at the ballpark are always a great reminder of the community we’ve built together.

Oh, and the tickets include all-you-can-eat food, which somehow makes the games even better. 🌭🍔😂

Here’s to another great season of baseball, laughs, and memories with great people.

A huge thank you to our Medical Director, Dr. McMickle, for spending time with our paramedic students, not only checking them off on intubation skill s but also sharing valuable guidance, real-world insight, and tips and tricks that only come from years of experience.

Having a Medical Director who takes an active role in student education and mentorship makes a tremendous impact on the confidence and development of future paramedics. We truly appreciate your continued support, leadership, and investment in our students and program.

Important Tuition Update – Effective for Future Classes Only, Does Not Affect Current Classes.

At Pillar EMS Academy, we’ve worked hard to keep tuition the same for as long as possible. Due to rising textbook and platform costs, we will be adjusting pricing for future classes only.

👉 Good news:
✔️ All currently advertised EMT, AEMT, Combo, and Paramedic classes stay at current pricing

Current Courses (Still Locked In)
EMT: $2,400
AEMT: $1,800
Combo: $3,600
Paramedic: $6,000

New Pricing (Future Cohorts Only)
EMT: $2,800
AEMT: $2,800
Combo: $5,000
Paramedic: $6,750

Why We Are Making This Change

This was not a decision made lightly.

Over the past several years, the cost of required textbooks and digital learning platforms has continued to rise significantly. Despite these increases, Pillar EMS Academy held tuition steady for as long as possible.

In October, we formally requested an increase to our institutional discount to help offset these rising costs. That request was escalated to leadership, and we have continued to follow up through multiple channels, including customer service, without receiving a response. With textbook and digital access costs continuing to climb, we are now forced to adjust tuition to cover the rising costs of delivering compliant, up-to-date education.

At Pillar EMS Academy, we do not rent textbooks. Every student is provided with current, required textbooks and full digital access, owned by the student and included in tuition. This ensures consistency across instruction, testing, and skills validation—and eliminates surprise out-of-pocket expenses.

Textbooks provided by program (retail value if purchased independently):

EMT
Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured – Advantage Package
AEMT (Twelfth Edition)
Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured
Text + digital code: $309.95
Digital code only: $267.95
Advanced Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured
Text + digital code: $354.95
Digital code only: $306.95
Paramedic
Nancy Caroline’s Emergency Care in the Streets – Ninth Edition
Both required texts provided
Text + digital access: $675.95
Digital code only: $442.95

These materials are included in tuition, are not rented, and are not reused or shared.

In addition, to directly offset student costs associated with this tuition adjustment, Pillar EMS Academy now includes the National Registry Computer-Based Exam (CBT) voucher as part of tuition. This is a required expense for certification and represents a real, tangible cost savings for students.

Pillar EMS Academy also provides enhanced test preparation. Our students consistently report that our exams and assessments are more challenging than the National Registry, which is intentional. This approach ensures students are prepared not only to pass the NREMT but to succeed confidently in real-world practice.

This tuition adjustment is not intended to generate profit; it allows us to absorb rising material costs while continuing to include essential resources upfront, rather than shifting those costs onto students later.

Our Commitment Remains the Same

Even with this adjustment:

Pillar remains one of the best-priced EMS programs in the region
We continue to offer a fully inclusive model
No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no extra textbook bills later
National Registry Computer-Based Exam vouchers are included
Payment plans remain available

This adjustment allows us to continue delivering the level of education, support, and resources our students expect and deserve while staying compliant with current standards.

If you are considering enrolling, now is the best time to lock in current pricing before future cohorts begin.

As always, we appreciate your trust and support and are happy to answer any questions.

Sponsoring events has never been something I’ve been comfortable putting front and center. I’ve always preferred to stay in the background. I understand that when Pillar shows up as a sponsor, people associate that with me, but this work isn’t about recognition. It’s about doing what needs to be done, no talk, no ideas left on the table, just action.

In this line of work, I’ve lost coworkers and friends. That stays with you. So if there’s an opportunity to support a cause or bring even a moment of relief to a family, even briefly, then I will always stand behind it.

Big moment for our very first Magnolia Soap Box Derby team 🏁

From day one, this group showed up ready to learn, work, and represent what we’re all about—and they made it count. Bringing home a 🥉 3rd place trophy in our first run is something we’re incredibly proud of.

This wasn’t just about racing. It was about teamwork, discipline, and pushing through every challenge along the way.

To our team: this is just the beginning.

📸🎥 Credit to Charlotte Storey for capturing these incredible moments
